Apparently something rather special is making a return for Christmas, but that's all we're allowed to say for now. 🤐😂

She's also warned us there will only be a limited number made this year.

We will be open shortly - Ally is currently en route but has encountered the small problem of other people also apparently wanting to use the roads this morning. 😂🚗

She's battling through the traffic and will get those doors open as soon as she can!

📋 AUGUST: THE LEAGUE HQ MONTHLY REPORT

Things achieved: Lots.
Products made: Lots.
Sensible social media posts: Questionable.
Pheasants released inside the shop: Officially none.
Sheep released inside the shop: Also officially none.
Pirate identities acquired: 8.
Fig Roll classification resolved: Absolutely not.
Baskets purchased by Stacey: Information unavailable.
Followers: Over 500! ❤️
Actual handmade work completed amongst all this nonsense: Surprisingly, loads. 😂

And somehow, that's August done. ❤️

Tomorrow September arrives, autumn officially begins* and we welcome a brand new Guest Maker to Made at No.16.

Surely things will calm down? (Absolutely nobody believes that) 😂

Well, we can answer that last one.

League HQ will be open, packed to the rafters with all your usual handmade loveliness - and Nicky will be behind the counter pretending they're not slightly jealous of everyone having a lie-in and muttering to herself about winter collections. 😂

🤔 THAT'S NOT WHAT THAT IS... 😂

One of the joys of working at Made at No.16 is watching people discover things they've never seen before.

Occasionally this leads to questions.
Occasionally those questions lead to us seeing our own products in an entirely new light.
And frankly, sometimes the customers have a point. 😂

Over the last couple of years we've had some particularly excellent alternative uses/identities suggested.

🥣 Reusable bowl covers
"Are these shower caps?" 🚿
To be fair...elasticated. Fabric. Head-sized - we see your working. 😂

🐱 Peg bags
"Are those cat beds?"
Technically no. Would a cat immediately climb into one if given the opportunity? Almost certainly.
And we can confirm that one has in fact already been purchased for a Chinchilla so whatever goes!

👶 Bobe dungarees
"Are these for dogs?" 🐶
No.
They are absolutely, categorically, handmade human children's dungarees.
However, we have conducted further research and are now querying our certainty. 😂
Nicky is NOT starting a dog range.
Probably. 👀 🐾

🐰 Garry's ceramic hares
"Oh, I love the donkeys!" 🫏
Garry would like it formally recorded that they are HARES. The donkeys have declined to comment.

And the best thing is, none of these are ridiculous questions. Once somebody says it, you look at the item again and think "actually...I can see that."

So now we want to know, have you ever confidently picked something up in a shop and been COMPLETELY wrong about what it was? 😂

🚨 LEAGUE HQ EXPANSION NEWS 🚨

Apparently we have a Kitchen Department now.

Nobody remembers approving it, but Stacey's been making again and things have escalated. 😂

We now have:

☕ NEW cafetière warmers — because apparently even the coffee is getting its own outfit.
🫖 Tea cosies — keeping the nation's tea warm, one pot at a time.
🥣 Reversible elasticated bowl covers — for when you've lost the correct Tupperware lid for the 427th time.
🔥 AGA covers — because even the AGA gets accessories around here.

And just when we thought Stacey had the entire kitchen covered, Nina has wandered in with her new fragrance oil/wax melt burners too. 😂

So there we have it:
Your tea is warm.
Your coffee is warm.
Your leftovers are covered.
Your AGA looks fabulous.
And your kitchen smells amazing.

Frankly, at this point it doesn't even matter if you can cook. 🤣

Just stand in your beautifully accessorised, gorgeous-smelling kitchen and look confident, nobody needs to know. 😂

All handmade by our League Members and waiting at Made at No.16. ❤️
At this rate, we're expecting matching outfits for the toaster by September.

🧡 ORANGE HAS ENTERED THE CHAT 🧡

We're slowly approaching that slightly confusing bit of the year where nobody quite knows what season we're in.

One minute it's summer. ☀️
The next it's raining (all 47 drops of the wet stuff!). 🌧️
The big shops are already thinking about Christmas. 😳

Meanwhile, at Made at No.16, Orange is absolutely thriving. 🧡😂 And frankly, we admire the confidence.

It's bright. It's cheerful. It's warm. It works in summer, wanders quite happily into autumn and appears to have absolutely no intention of choosing a season to stick to.

So today we're giving orange the floor.

We've rounded up some of our favourite orange bits from around the shop, and there's rather a lot to enjoy.

There are flowers, jewellery, ceramics, fabric, homewares and all sorts of lovely handmade things...including a rabbit driving a carrot car, because apparently subtlety wasn't invited. 🥕🐰😂

We've also accessorised Garry's ceramic dog head with an orange lead for photographic purposes.

(Please be assured that Made at No.16 remains an equal-opportunities establishment and dogs choosing blue, pink, green, purple or indeed any other colour lead will receive exactly the same level of service. 🐶😂)

Have a flick through and enjoy a little blast of orange. 🧡

And if the weather has decided its had enough of its own heat today, we're simply not acknowledging it. ☀️😂
