Designed as a contemporary barn house, this property features impressive ceiling heights and a long, open-plan layout. Large patio doors at the rear of the space flood the room with natural light, making it the obvious location for the kitchen.

During the design process, we introduced carefully considered full-height bespoke cabinetry to create a seamless architectural feature that maximises storage while helping maintain a calm, uncluttered space.

Thinking about adding a dressing room to your space?

This bespoke grey oak and crushed fabric gentleman's dressing room was designed to feel in harmony with the rest of the home, continuing the sophisticated grey oak detailing used throughout the interior. By focusing on beautiful symmetry and simplicity, the finer details and quality of the materials are allowed to take centre stage.

The result is a space that provides the perfect place to prepare for the day ahead and unwind at the end of it.

The most practical room in the house - the boot room.

When countryside living and family life go hand in hand, the boot room becomes an essential transitional space; somewhere to leave muddy boots, wet coats and the outdoors behind before stepping into the rest of the home.

Like every space within a well-designed home, a boot room should feel thoughtfully connected to its surroundings, balancing practicality with the same level of care and consideration as the kitchen itself.

It was a pleasure helping these lovely clients with their project once again.

The large patio doors at the rear of the room, overlooking the garden, allow an abundance of natural light to flood the space, and it soon became clear that this would be the perfect setting for the kitchen.

During the design stages, we chose natural, Nordic-inspired materials that complemented the existing architecture. This included white-oiled maple, soft earthy-green paintwork and black satin stone worktops.

When hosting, the kitchen becomes the heart of the occasion; where conversations flow and, of course, where the food is prepared.

Professional-grade appliances such as Gaggenau are often chosen not only for their performance, but for how seamlessly they integrate into the overall space. These finer details should be carefully considered to ensure hosting feels effortless, never chaotic.

In our latest blog, we explore this further:

Lighting within a space should work together, not against one another. Combining different sources, intensities and directions of light helps bring a space together, influencing both the atmosphere and how the space functions day to day.

Beyond aesthetics, thoughtful lighting design also improves practicality. Task lighting, in particular, is designed to support specific working areas, offering greater functionality alongside softer ambient lighting.

The importance of natural light within a kitchen is often understated.

Oftentimes, it’s easy to become carried away with artificial lighting which, of course, plays an important role within the overall harmony of the home.

However, ensuring that natural light flows through the space can completely change how the kitchen feels, particularly during the lighter evenings of the year.

From material choices to colour palettes, there are many thoughtful details that can enhance the way natural light is experienced within a space.

Why fewer materials often create a richer interior.

When too many finishes compete within a space, the overall design can begin to feel unsettled rather than cohesive.

What we often find is that when fewer materials are used more deliberately, the eye lingers for longer, creating a calmer and more timeless feel that isn’t tied to fleeting trends.

In our latest blog, we explore this in more detail:
