WE'RE LEAVING our 5* rated kitchen in Urmston this week. Everything is packed and there will be no baking for the foreseeable future. Sad to leave but necessary. BIG thanks to John, Anthony & Mel of JW Fitness for accommodating us and introducing us to some of your lovely customers. And thanks a million once more to Sue Wilkinson and Cheeky Cherubs for appearing when the idea was just a twinkle 🤩.
HOPE IT won't be too long til we've got the ovens on again. In the meantime, thanks everyone for your support ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍👋

OUR SOURDOUGH BREAD's not just tasty and nutritious, it's also made in strict accordance with food hygiene regulations. And today, we were awarded the coverted 5* rating by Trafford Council in recognition of that fact.

Starlight Bakery Manchester is making a first appearance at the Knutsford Makers' Market this Sunday, 1st August. And what better way to celebrate the good things on life than by eating tasty, nutritious, delicious food?
We'll have traditional white boules made with Doves Farm organic flour on offer alongside our popular Cheddar cheese & jalapeno pepper loaves. Maybe the idea of Stilton, Pear & Walnut bread will grab your attention or perhaps a loaf made with ancient grains flour will pique your interest; khoresan (kamut), spelt and einkorn should all feature.

Three beauties, fresh out of the oven - the one at the front is a parmesan loaf made with organic einkorn flour, one on the right is a plain organic einkorn loaf and the one at the back is organic einkorn with green. Next week's ancient grain will be khorasan/kamut flour. Get your orders in early 😉

STARLIGHT is named in honour of the highly successful laundry set up and run in Manchester by our Great Grandfather Mihran Mezbourian. Mihran left his home at Smyrna in the Ottoman Empire as a teenager in the mid 1890s in order to escape the anti-Armenian pogroms which were becoming more frequent and murderous. He chose Manchester as his home and set up a business from scratch with a reputation for excellence.
BREAKING BREAD with friends and family is one of mankind's oldest rituals. Sourdough is one of the oldest known breads. We make sourdough by hand in the time-honoured way. You can be confident that your loaf made by Starlight Bakery Manchester was made with love and care.

LIKE MANY OTHER FOLKS, Starlight Bakery hasn't had an easy start to 2021. Family has to come first, which leaves little time for anything else.
With the announcement of the 'roadmap' yesterday, we can at least see light at the end of all this. There's talk already in the makers' community of outdoor markets in the summer months.
So our plan is to start baking orders again over the Easter holidays, if all goes to plan.
Looking forward to seeing you all again and thank you for the support so far. All the very best 🌈
