We’re here until Sunday - come and see us and chat to our Director, Tom, about all things Indigo Antiques. We love to share the story behind each object, where it came from, why it’s important and how we sourced it.

It’s the opening day of Battersea Decorative Fair today. It’s been a few years since we’ve been able to attend so this is an extremely exciting week for Indigo!

If you’re in London or looking to travel in, then stop by at the stand to see our team - Tom & Tayla who have a set up the stand with some of our current favourites.

Pictured here is our Gilt Teak Burmese Shan Buddha, sitting in bhumisparsha mudra - his right hand touching the earth.

Wooden Ancestor Figures (17th Century) - Ancestor worship was an integral part of Chinese cultures for many centuries. These figures were cherished and honoured daily with and offering of incense; believed to protect the home and family members.

A glimpse through our 19th Century Indian Painted Triple Arch set up at Battersea Decorative Fair

In the photo, our Japanese Silver Byobu Screen is the backdrop to a Carved Lacquer Burmese Monk from the 19th Century. This particular piece is from a collection once in the Pitt Rivers Collection.

To the left of the Monk, a very special Chinese Export Black Lacquer Storage Box, richly decorated inside and out. An unusually elaborate example of the luxury lacquerware produced in southern China during the height of the China Trade.

Everything you see will be available to purchase at Battersea Decorative Fair from the opening day, tomorrow. We’re really looking forward to a great fair!

Our mirror aisle at Indigo has recently been topped up with a big shipment from India 🇮🇳

It’s one of our favourite parts of the barn …. the reflections are so awesome - stacks of antique chests, statues, more mirrors, tribal masks and so much more! A seriously cool set up.

The mirrors are mango wood / hand painted / architectural reclaimed doors / window shutters & reclaimed teak to name a few 🪵

Visit us Monday - Saturday, no appointments necessary.

♦️ Painted Tibetan Tiger Door Panel ♦️ 1940’s ♦️
✨ ….next to our Ink Blue & White Dragon Vase ✨

In Tibetan Buddhist symbolism, the tiger is associated with strength, confidence, the ability to overcome anger and develop wisdom and insight.

All of our porcelain is hand picked in Jingdezhen, China. This piece is from our most recent buying trip. Painted by hand by true artisans.

Tiger Door Panel - W73 x D3 x H177cm - £2,950
Porcelain Jar - W36 x D36 x H63cm - £275

We had great plans on container day to unwrap the new stock, show you amazing videos and set up a photoshoot like we usually do…. But the weather had a different idea ☔️ 🥺

The start was coming together with two teal capitol side tables and the brass bound chest, but everything had to be quickly scurried inside as the heavens opened!

Things are being uploaded to our website; and it’s all taking shape in our showroom too as the team have been working tirelessly all week to have things ready to view for you.

Check out our New Arrivals webpage to see what’s come in recently on our Indian and Chinese shipments .
