We didn’t want to block the window and the fire surround was too high. So we decided to make a bespoke cabinet that hides the tv. A simple press on the button pops the tv up. And there is even storage space for other bits.

KITCHEN DINER REVAMP
You really don’t have to buy everything new to completely transform a room.

For this kitchen diner, we worked with what was already there and made a few clever changes that made a huge difference. The existing sideboard was given a fresh coat of paint, furniture was rearranged and most of the owners’ accessories were simply styled differently.

The kitchen cabinets were painted a deep, dark green, creating a beautiful contrast with the existing floor and warm wooden worktops.

We also:
• Added a statement triple pendant light above the dining table
• Turned the table 90° to improve the flow of the space
• Replaced the backsplash tiles with a more contemporary style
• Restyled existing accessories rather than buying everything new

Sometimes a room doesn’t need more things — it just needs a fresh perspective.

Good interior design isn’t always about buying more. It’s about knowing what to keep, what to change and how to bring it all together.

In this open kitchen diner, we changed the following to make the room feel more modern and inviting:
• dark green kitchen cabinets
• new tiles
• new handles
• new sofa and cushions
• wallpaper on long back wall
• new light above the table
• turned the table 90 degrees
• added picture shelves
• painted the sideboard and moved it.
• painted the ceiling and walls
