Of all loves, few are as wild, windswept, and soul-deep as Wuthering Heights 🖤🌿

“Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same.”

To celebrate Emerald Fennell’s Wuthering Heights arriving this Valentine’s Day, I couldn’t resist honouring one of literature’s most haunting love stories. Gothic romance at its finest.

My ideal plan? Watch the film, feel everything, then curl up and stitch the hoop while the moors linger in your mind.

And if this kind of dark, literary romance is your thing… more gothic embroidery kits are already in the making 🕯️🖤

This year is all about sharing the things I love. 💛

Mostly through embroidery - because it’s mindful, calming, and has always helped me with depression and anxiety - and turning your favourite classic literature quotes into stitches of course. ☺️

Abigail Rose Creative is the home of bookish embroidery: sharing what I’m reading, watching, and listening to, showing you what I’m making, taking you along on my Austen adventures, and, of course, sharing all the cat content along the way.

In 2026 I’ll be:
💛 helping beginners gently explore embroidery
💛 hosting workshops & stitching together in real life
💛 celebrating stories, craft, and everyday magic
💛 taking you along on my regency adventures
💛sharing more of what I love, and inviting you to share with me too

Welcome back. I’m ready.
Hello, 2026 - let’s stitch a beautiful story together ✨

🎄✨ Merry Christmas, lovely people! ✨🎄

A huge thank you to everyone following along with my embroidery biz this year - whether you’ve shopped small and supported me, shared in the joy of my creations, or just enjoyed the extra cat and book content (and Jane Austen of course!) 🐾📚. Your support means the world!

The shop isn’t officially closed, and I’m still popping to the post office every couple of days - though anything bought now won’t arrive in time for Christmas 🎁📦

Mostly, I’m off, soaking up all the festive joy at home: twinkling lights, stitching little gifts for loved ones, enjoying festive treats, and maybe a mince pie or three… 🕯️🍪 But you’ll still catch me sharing little festive moments on my stories!

I hope you all enjoy celebrating the season however you do, surrounded by family, friends, and festive cheer ✨💛

Last year’s cardigan, finally having its glow-up 🍃🎄

This started life as a plain beige cardigan with fun balloon sleeves (a Sainsbury’s find from last year) that sat patiently in my wardrobe while I meant to do something with it… and this Christmas, I finally did.

I’ve added just a touch of holly embroidery: one small sprig with red berries on each cuff, and another tucked neatly at the side of the collar. Festive, but understated - the kind of detail you only notice when you’re close.

Now it’s my Christmas cardigan: lovely as it is, but with the option to add to it over the years if I fancy. Proof that a little stitching can turn something simple into something special ✨

I hope you’re enjoying seeing some of the other embroidery and crafts I get up to too - alongside my bookish embroidery kits, I love finding new ways to weave stitching into everyday things, especially when it comes to handmade gifts for people (or myself 😉) 🎁🧵

A little festive foraging moment 🍄🌿

Inspired by the mushroom-filled wreaths at this year, I couldn’t resist creating my own woodland version - lush greenery, tiny toadstools, winter berries, twinkling lights, and those bows ✨

My mum (all the skill, all the speed) made the base, I painted the wooden mushrooms gold (just the caps!), added lights, red berries, and clusters of aligned mushrooms… and Myrtle the cat supervised, contributing mostly morale.

Proof, if any were needed, that Abigail Rose Creative does more than embroidery - apparently I also dabble in festive woodland magic ✨

✨Head on over to my Instagram Christmas Market! ✨

Where twinkly deals meet handmade treasures… and where I am, inevitably, surrounded by threads, baubles, and an inadvisable amount of chocolate.

Since I’m not at a Christmas market this week as originally planned, I thought I’d bring the festive cheer straight to you - and give myself a chance to clear some stock while spreading a little seasonal joy. 🎄✨

I’ve gathered all my festive makes, Christmas embroidery kits, and bookish kits into one cosy corner right here - and they’re all on special offer until 10th December.

💌 To order: just drop me a DM on Insta, and I’ll wrap it up with a bow (metaphorical… unless you want a real one).
📦 Free UK shipping on all orders.
📚 Plus: there’s still 20% off all embroidery kits on Etsy until 2nd December - grab them while the elves are distracted.

Everything is tucked neatly into a Christmas Market highlight, ready for you to browse without needing ten layers and a woolly hat.

Wishing you a December full of sparkle, stitching, and good things. ✨🎁🧵🍫

Well… this is not quite the post I imagined sharing this week.

Yesterday, shortly after arriving at to set up for the day, I was shouted at by Lady Manners over the Instagram stories I had shared the previous night (basically just standing up for myself) and was told to leave the market. There was no accountability taken by , and no attempt to apologise to me, address or resolve what happened. So here’s a series of photos from my time at the Mercatum (1 day) setting up, exploring, and me packing up (with some help from my amazing dad and wonderful friend ) and then heading home, still very much in the “what on earth just happened?” stage of processing. 😂

But honestly? This is absolutely the best thing for my mental health and general wellbeing. No more tiptoeing, no more tension - just a clean break and a deep exhale. Now I get to enjoy the whole of December being Christmassy as heck, which feels like the greatest plot twist of all. I might even finally finish the Christmas sewing advent I started there years ago. 🎄✨

If you’d like the full story, you can check out my “market drama” highlight - I’ll be updating it as needed.

Thank you for the unbelievable support you’ve all sent my way. Every message, every comment - it’s meant the world. Hearing how many other vendors have had similar experiences has been eye-opening, and strangely comforting in a “oh, it’s not just me!” sort of way.

A big warm hello to all the new followers - welcome to the chaos, the creativity, and the odd cat. 🐱 A huge thank you to the wonderful markets and organisers who have reached out inviting me to exhibit with them. You’re absolute gems. 💛

So, to wrap up: I won’t be at Haddon Market this weekend or next week, but I will have some brilliant deals on my kits and a few festive bits popping up this weekend. If you were hoping to snag something from me, keep an eye out - plenty of loveliness is still coming.

Onwards, cheerfully, sparkly, and with far fewer dramatic encounters. ✨🧵💛

The winter sun was especially kind today at , washing the whole place in a soft golden glow ✨

I couldn’t resist pausing to take it in - this building has a way of stopping you in your tracks.

I’m here until 7th December for the Christmas Mercatum Market 🎄 and it truly feels like the perfect setting. Haddon is one of my favourite places: beautifully crafted, rich with history, and with a film résumé any actor would envy 🎬

It’s appeared in Jane Eyre, The Princess Bride, Pride & Prejudice (2005), Elizabeth, Mary Queen of Scots, The Other Boleyn Girl… a proper star in its own right 🏰✨

My stand is fully stocked with:
🧵 Christmas embroidery kits
📚 Brand-new bookish designs
🎄 Eco-friendly reusable crackers
✨ Book baubles
🎃 And a loyal little gathering of pumpkins still refusing to retire for the season

If you’re visiting, do come and say hello - I’ll be quietly stitching away in the corner of my hut, hoping the sunshine stays, and enjoying every moment 💛

✨ Big, bookish news! ✨

I’m delighted to officially share not one, but two brand-new full-size embroidery kits - both inspired by the magic of getting lost in a story.

⭐ A Reader Lives a Thousand Lives
Soft dusky fabric sprinkled with tiny stars, a little crescent moon, and an open book inviting you into a new adventure. It feels like a quiet night curled up with a favourite tale - dreamy, peaceful, and a touch celestial.

🌼 Just One More Chapter
A golden fabric base wrapped in bright florals, framing that well-known promise we whisper at midnight. This one’s for every reader who fully intends to stop at one chapter… and absolutely never does.

They made their debut at the in Harrogate this week - and people have been so enthusiastic about them. Seeing fellow book lovers light up when they spotted these designs has been such a lovely boost.

Each kit comes with beautiful materials and everything you need to begin right away. A perfect treat for yourself, or a thoughtful gift for a fellow story-obsessed friend.

Both designs are now live in my Etsy shop - link below! 💛📚✨

✨ Stitching at Knit & Stitch Harrogate! ✨

You can usually find me with a project on the go… and today was no exception!

Between lovely chats, happy customers, and all the show buzz, I often perch on my yellow velvet chair and do a little stitching - because honestly, I can’t sit still without picking up a needle. 😂🪡💛

I’m currently working on some gorgeous ribbons for my stand at Haddon Hall next week, and it felt so peaceful stitching them right here in the middle of all the creative chaos. There’s something about making at a show that just feels extra special - surrounded by makers, inspiration, and that warm “we’re all in this together” energy.

Another lovely day of smiling faces, inspiring conversations, and crafty magic. If you’re visiting tomorrow, come say hello - I’ll be the one either talking excitedly or stitching away in my chair… usually both at once! 🌸✨

✨ Knit & Stitch Harrogate! ✨

Back in beautiful Harrogate again and honestly… it feels a bit like coming home (just with far more colour, creativity and crafty temptation). Yesterday was such a brilliant first day - so many lovely chats, so many gorgeous makes, and that classic Harrogate buzz I adore. 💛

AND I’ve brought two brand new bookish embroidery kits with me - “Just One More Chapter” and “A Reader Lives a Thousand Lives.” They’re both available to order now, and I’m so excited to finally share them! Just send me a DM to get yours. 📚🪡✨

Huge love to the wonderful maker crew I adore seeing again: .kave - you’re the reason my cheeks already ache from smiling!

And of course, I’ve got my Welsh twin with me - Jess (). Not actually my twin, but honestly, close enough. They’re fantastic: keeping me organised, hydrated, and laughing… basically the dream show buddy! 💕

I’m really looking forward to the rest of the show - more stitching, more chatting, more friendly faces, and maybe a few sneaky purchases I absolutely don’t need but definitely want.

If you’re here this weekend, come say hello - I love meeting you all! 🧵🌸✨
