What is tensegrity? Often also called anti-gravity or floating structures. Put simply it is a structure made of two completely separate halves which are in compression held together only by cables or chains in tension.

These sorts of structures became a bit of a craze in 2020 with lots of people making tables and chairs. All of which look cool but few have practical applications because unless you understand the true forces involved they can wobble and be unstable.

You're probably thinking, why on earth would you try and put fire on top of a wobbly unstable structure? Most people think that which is probably why we're the first people in the world to make a tensegrity fire pit! The difference with our structure is that it is incredibly rigid, zero wobble because we understand the forces involved and how to make it as stable as any normal fire pit.

We hope you like them as much as we do. The photos really don't do it justice just how much it makes the mind boggle how it doesn't just fall over!

Turns out it's not just us that get lost gazing into a fire. Believe it or not this photo wasn't staged, Emrys was happy dreaming about being a big grown up dog while staring into the fire when we crept up behind with a camera. 😍

Similar to our Tensegrity - 'Lambda' fire pit this design is suspended on cables which not only looks really cool but it also transfers much less heat to the ground. The feet aren't directly connected to the bowl so if you have plastic or fragile decking then these might be the solution for you!

Shown here with our optional hexagon swing-away grates for that perfect bbq! We chose hexagons because they tessellate perfectly so your food gets right over the hottest part of the fire for that perfectly cooked meal.

Meet 'Tranquility' - our latest and most spectacular fire pit. I've had this design in my head for a long time and I've been lucky enough to be able to make it for the perfect customer with the perfect home that will do it justice.

It's hard to get a photo of this fire pit that shows it in all its glory. Every angle you look at it from it shows something different. A sphere from all directions but never the same.
