👏 NEW ARRIVALS 📦 Wicker storage baskets just in time for that whimsical time of year!

We’ve just received in some beautiful wicker storage trunk baskets. The problem was how do we display them because they looked beautiful on top of a wardrobe, next to the sofas, under a console table and in every part of the showroom.

Instead though we added some of character doorstops to show them off just as you walk into store 👍🏼 and with Christmas just around the corner they would make a stunning Hamper or gift for those who love a country side interior accessory filled with goodies.

Available in both our Oakham and Melton Mowbray stores. Come take a peek at all the new things arriving in.

🎃 HALLOWEEN CHALLENGE 👀 we asked the staff for the top item a Vampire and a Grim Reaper would need and the answers were so good!

The Vampire would need a Lantern suitable to go out in the dark 🌝🧛 and the next top picks would be a table lamp, floor lamp or even a suitable wardrobe to hide in when sunlight comes around.

Then the Grim Reaper was a little harder to decide 🫢 but we think he would need a good clock because he needs to be on time. We have plenty of clocks in store so choosing one we all liked was hard, Simon chose this beautiful clock.

This is our Oakham stores Halloween characters challenge.

What would you have chosen for a Vampire and a Grim Reaper? 🤔 let us know in the comments 👌🏼

🎃 HALLOWEEN CHALLENGE 👀 we asked the staff for the top item a Witch and a Mummy would need and the answers were brilliant!

Of course a witch would need a table suitable for a cauldron 🧙 a lamp table, side table or an even a dining room table. If they wanted space for their potions and pots a sideboard or display cabinet would be our next top pick!

Then the Mummy was harder 🫢 they chose a Larder to keep all those extra bandages in to order them neatly and our next top pick would be a bookcase or display unit for keeping any ancient artefacts and treasures.

This is our Melton Mowbray Halloween characters challenge.
Next up we will be showing what our Oakham store chooses for some more fun!

What would you have chosen for a Witch and a Mummy? 🤔 let us know in the comments 👌🏼

The biggest mistake when choosing a bed is forgetting about the bedroom space 📏 🛏️ it might look perfect in the showroom, but there’s more to consider…

Think about the size and layout of your bedroom, the space you need to move around the bed, whether you need extra storage and how your bedside tables, wardrobes and other bedroom furniture will work around it.

Don’t forget the practical bit that is very easy to overlook... will it actually fit into your room with drawers and doors opening too?👀

When you’re investing in a new bed, it’s worth taking the time to find something that works for your lifestyle.

At Portess, we have a wide choice of beds, mattresses, bedroom furniture, wardrobes, chests of drawers and bedside tables, with options to help you create a bedroom that works as beautifully as it looks.
