I’m writing this with a heavy heart to let you know that I’ve had to make the difficult decision to cancel my upcoming March workshops, including the Pilot session and the Mother’s Day Deconstruction Workshop.

As some of you know, I’ve been struggling with my health recently, and things have unfortunately deteriorated to the point where I’m currently housebound. I'm not sure whether my condition will have improved in time for the workshops, so the best decision for me to make right now is sadly to cancel them.

I am so sorry to anyone who was looking forward to these sessions. I am gutted to be pressing pause just as I was getting started, but I have to listen to my body so that I can hopefully come back stronger in the future.

To my booked participants: I have sent you an email with details, and 100% refunds are being processed today. You should see them in your account within 3–5 business days.

Thank you all for the incredible kindness and support you’ve shown me this week. It means the world.

Hope to see you all again soon, and in the meantime I'll still be crocheting and writing patterns (calmly) from the sofa 🥰

Textile waste is a problem so big it can be seen from space. 🌍💔

The final shots in this montage are of the Atacama Desert in Chile. It's essentially a graveyard for fast fashion.

Every try-on haul, every fashion trend people jump on, so much of it ends up like this.

There is no such thing as thrown away, because "away" doesn't exist. These things don't just disappear. They end up here.

I couldn't look at these images and do nothing. I wanted to be able to do things that bring me calm in a way that also makes the world a slightly better place.

We don't need more new. We need to repurpose what’s already here.

While the world is obsessed with next day delivery and hauls, our planet is literally choking on our discarded fabric. These piles in Chile, Ghana, India and the rest are a reminder that our convenience has a terrible cost. It just seems easy for people to forget when that cost is on the other side of the world.

In my workshops, we'll take old bedsheets, T-shirts, anything we can, and turn them into something beautiful, functional, and mindful.

It’s a tiny drop in a massive ocean, but it’s a start.

I'm ready to start finding my peace in the pieces others threw away.

Sharing this reassurance today - I've been unwell for the last few weeks with one bug or another and I'm giving myself permission to rest and recover ☺️😴

Sometimes it's difficult not to let the to-do list run free in my brain even when I'm resting. So I'm making a concerted effort to flick those thoughts away when they arise, focus on the present and really, truly, mind body and soul, REST.

**UPDATE**

Vue cinema have been back in touch - they would only allow us to do this by paying to hire the screen. Their smallest screen sits 59 people and would cost £450!!! 🫨 I worked it out and even if we had all 59 seats filled, we'd still be paying more for that than a normal cinema ticket..

SO! I've done what I should have done in the first place - started reaching out to local independent cinemas! We want to keep them in business! If you have any suggestions, please let me know!

I've sent my first email out to The Market Hall Cinema in Brynmawr - the oldest cinema in Wales!! If they agree, would any of you be willing to travel? It would be about 20 minutes away from Merthyr (but worth the journey I reckon!).

I'll pop another update in as soon as I've heard back 🤞🍿

Does anyone else think dark cinemas are a bit of a wasted opportunity for us crafters? 😅

I’ve been seeing those lit-up 'Crafty Cinema' nights online and I’m determined to bring one to Merthyr.

I’ve officially reached out to Vue to see if they’ll let us have a monthly 'Stitch & Screen'—lights dimmed, but on, and totally shush-free!

​Her more refined cousin will be dropping as a pattern on my Etsy store this weekend. Just in time to make a unique gift for Valentine's Day! 💌

A gentle Sunday reminder.

No judgement or guilt here, just a nudge towards some other options.

Times are hard right now and money is tight all round.. but shopping from temu has become so normalised that people have forgotten why it is that they can afford to sell their items so cheaply.

Over-consumption is such a huge problem. We shouldn't have to feel guilty for that, the world is literally set up to make us consumers from birth.

But where you're able to, make the choice to fight back by buying second hand. You're saving money, reducing waste, and avoiding supporting unfair labour.
