I just don’t tire of that clip clip sound as the racehorses pass by my shop each day. Coming back from a ride out on the gallops, clip clop, clip clop….that for you!
Georgian doors to admire, an castle, four pub/ bars, a fabulous vintage shop….ok I would say that wouldn’t I? But also a lovely antique shop, , beautiful views from the low moor, and a great fish and chip shop on the marketplace. Some super places to stay

“ We binge watched Rivals” has been said on so many posts…and I too have just finished Series 2. What a great bit of nostalgic 80s drama! Dame Jilly Cooper certainly was Queen of the bonkbusters! And there’s a part 2 of this series to look forward to also!! Yay!
I graduated in 1985 and felt very grown up with my £6k salary as a graduate management trainee with Habitat…I was in my element and yes I had shoulder pads and hairspray a plenty!

Loved the story but the 80s hair and wardrobe details and the soundtrack were just fabulous ! …

Happy Tuesday Y’all and greetings from up my Yorkshire Dale…
It’s an at home/ studio day today…lots to do, but first we have early morning puppy madness , this morning involved a blue thing…( because granddog Woody who is only a puppy still, likes to wake up at 5.30am) followed by my cuppa and some calm.
So here’s Woody being cute munched up on my chair with me while performs his neighbourhood watch duties averting any alien attacks on the village…oh no it’s just the dustbin lorry…then there’s a swap of…my turn for a snuggle! Dogs huh! Gotta love them !




Had a lovely day at the fete….and as I have said, the word fete undersold this event…more like a county show!!!! Weathe...

Had a lovely day at the fete….and as I have said, the word fete undersold this event…more like a county show!!!! Weather held out, the locals and visitors came and a jolly good day was had by all. I had my WI hat on partially too, as we were asked to do the refreshments and that went jolly well…lots of preparation for these events. And and did an amazing job of creating such a wonderful event!!! They thought of absolutely every detail.
And my granddog Woody had a jolly lovely socialising puppy day, and Mr Atrium even entered him in the waggiest tail and the Dog I’d like to take home competitions……ice creams were eaten, Pimms quaffed, all in all a super Sunday!!!
Lovely to see so many regular Atrium customers too x big hugs xx
So back to the sewing table today after a much needed clothes sort out…I need to unearth my summer wardrobe!

I love it when customers pop by and say …I follow you on Insta.
I don’t have a lot of followers and I believe most are not BOTs …Not because I love the so called attention, but because it’s a nice way to engage with like minded people. So when these two mad birds from popped by yesterday we established all the common likes of brands and experiences…all big fans of what Julia has done creating , s fabulous recreations, I’ve steered them towards and and we discussed the demise of Cabbages & Roses. And a lot more nattering ensued!
Life after 60 ( even for those of us still way off that retirement pension) is good and we are thriving! We have knowledge, experience and little to prove other than we can do what we want…and often do it bloody well ( with k***s on!)
So my Emporium door is always open …( when I’m there that is on a Thursday Friday and Saturday that is) …and all are welcome to pop by and say hi!
And for those who say …I drive past but you are never open, well that’s because the fabric magic of my soft furnishings , happens on the other days , up in my studio at Atrium HQ in the tiny hamlet of Horsehouse up in the moors ….
So Happy Sunday Y’all!
I’m off to set up my stall at fete…after a hearty breakfast …thank you Mr Atrium ( he’s a keeper)..

Don’t be fooled by the words Church Fete…oh no it’s so much more, more like a mini county show!!!!
And there’s going to be loads of dogs and delights!
And it’s Tomorrow SUNDAY!
And the weather is looking perfect…
So get yourselves along to a bit of country jollity, in the most beautiful setting.
And pop by to my little mini emporium ( ok a cream gazebo)…and say hi! Then go and have a cuppa and some nosh in the marquee from the lovely ladies of Coverdale Women’s Institute.

It was a definite doggy day yesterday…this little beauty popped by to say hello…this is Tara and her mummy is . Adorable cute…then I have to report that I’m still on granddog duty with Woody while my daughter is on a NATO exercise…and we have to send pupdates. He’s very chilled when he comes to the shop with me as head of security. Then he goes just bonkers when he’s with my two Rusty and Finn…and lives up to his name as he collects logs..
And on top of that I’ve made some smelly dogs, I haven’t done these for a few years now…so they are off to Sunday’s fete which is jolly country dog focussed …Woody may well be popping in too!

It must be nearly Summer…as we’ve had a heatwave , now it’s pouring with rain….and I’m getting myself organised for Sunday and the
fete, ( which is more like a mini county show…not just an average church fete…oh no!!!)
However one simply can’t stall out at a Summer fete without bunting can one?
So I’ve rustled up some fresh scraps bunting for my little gazebo of curiosities…
I’ve got sausage rolls to make for who are donning their fabulous aprons to offer refreshments for your delectation ( and of course there’ll be cake…this is Yorkshire after all!)
That and I’m smelling some gorgeous lilac from my tree whilst penning this…so all is good in my world today! And I thought a boppy tune would add to that vibe!!! Love still….
