The more automated the world becomes, the more valuable craft becomes.

In my 17 years of working with my hands, I’ve learned that no one can take away my skills, my experience or my creativity.

And perhaps that has never felt more valuable than it does now.

We live in a world where more and more jobs are being replaced or automated by machines. But there are some things technology can never quite replicate.

Human connection. Creativity. Experience. And the feeling of being cared for by another person.

When someone sits in my chair for several hours while I create their dream dreadlocks, I’m not just providing a service.

We talk. We laugh. We share stories. We create a transformation together.

In a world that is rapidly changing, where technology seems to be taking over more and more of our lives, doing work that is in service of people, using my hands instead of sitting behind a screen, feels like a privilege.

And 17 years ago, when I first learned this craft simply because I was fascinated by it and wanted the style myself, I had no idea where it would lead me.

I didn’t know this skill would become my career.

That it would allow me to build my own business, introduce me to thousands of people, take me places I never expected to go, and eventually become something I could pass on to others.

That’s why I believe so strongly in learning a craft.

Because when you learn a skill with your own hands, you’re not just learning how to do a job.

You’re building something that belongs to you.

And the more automated the world becomes, the more valuable that becomes. 🌿

Sometimes the simplest styles make the biggest impact.

For this look, I used my Deep Forest Beads to create a simple single-dreadlock style that looks beautiful and adds just the right amount of earthy detail to your locs. ✨

The best part? It’s ridiculously easy.

Simply add the beads to the dreadlock in front of you, slide them back into place… and job done! No complicated styling, no fuss. Just a few beautiful beads and your locs are transformed. 🌿
