"So the AI counts your stock?"

No. It cannot see the warehouse. It has never held a roll.

What it does do is take a snapshot of the control system at 8 AM, take another at half five (after the couriers leave at 3 PM), and ask whether the difference matches the orders that went out in between.

That's it. Subtraction, done properly, every single day, by something that doesn't get bored or take a call halfway through.

And then I take a photo of a pallet bay, and it will live-connect to our system in real time and check that every box on the pallet is right.

Half the AI talk on here is people promising it'll do the job. The bit that's actually earned its keep for me is it doing the checking β€” the maths nobody enjoys and everybody skips. Precision, detail, conscientiousness- if it were a person, it'd be after my heart.

Unglamorous. Also the only bit that's stuck. πŸ’‘

Twenty-one of us. Four chairs are still empty.

BNI won't launch a chapter until the seats are filled, so until that happens, we're just a very well-organised group of people having breakfast in the dark.

The video is for everyone who's in so far. Two of them haven't sent a headshot yet, which is why they're grey blobs. You know who you are.

Four categories left. One business per category β€” so whoever takes one shuts the door behind them on everyone else in their trade.

Visitor morning: Wednesday 12 August, 6:45 am, The Rufus Centre, Flitwick.
If you're anywhere between Bedford, Luton and Milton Keynes and fancy an hour, comment SEAT and I'll send the details.

$86 billion.

That's where some new market reports reckon indoor LED lighting will be by 2030. I read the press release, so you don't have to. (Nobody asked me to. That's content marketing, apparently.)

Buried in the segment tables: "cabinet and cove lights" now get their own category. So do "smart decorative luminaires". Decorative lighting is officially a headline trend β€” according to people with 250 pages to fill.

Your showroom customers have been asking for this stuff for years. Now there's a spreadsheet that agrees with them. Good of the data to catch up.

We've been making it all along (and stocking it in Milton Keynes). Validation's nice. Orders are nicer.

If you'd rather skip the report and just light the display, you know where I am πŸ’‘

05:30 start.
06:45 BNI meeting.
09:30 delivering LED panels to Nixon Hire.
Late morning, on my knees under a kitchen kickboard.
Now: at the warehouse, chainsawing wood. (No, I don't know either.) πŸ˜…

The kickboard is the bit worth telling.

New customer, first time fitting our LED tape. Rather than email a spec sheet and wish them luck, I drove over and did the first run with them.

Cleaning the surface so the 3M actually grabs. Getting the polarity right on the tails. Sitting the tape so you see the light and not the diodes. Obvious once someone's shown you β€” a proper pain to unpick when they haven't.

Half an hour on the floor beats three days of back-and-forth on the phone. They'll fit the next ten runs without ringing me once.

That's what "we do support" is supposed to mean. Not a line on a website β€” we're on site, showing you how it goes in.

Showroom or wholesaler fitting LED tape, and the instructions have left you guessing? Happy to come show you, too.

Right, I've done some maths. My mileage for the prior 17 days was 1,236miles.

That's London to Edinburgh. Twice. With a detour.

I visited customers, I saw things, and I had moments when I genuinely thought, "That would make a great LinkedIn post." ...

My content output from 1,236 miles of inspiration?

πŸ“¦ YET MORE photos of some boxes in my car.

I don't know what that says about my marketing strategy, but I am confident it says ... something.

Week four, though. Week four is going to be different.

(It won't, it won't ... be different.)

Right β€” I've finally tidied up my LinkedIn.

My "About" section, it turns out, was written by LinkedIn's own AI β€” it had me down as "passionate about eco-friendly lighting solutions for various industries." Reader, I have never said that sentence out loud in my life.

So: new banner, a headline that isn't 90% phone number, and an About that actually sounds like me (there's an Aston Martin in it).

Same LED. Same bloke driving it to you. Just a lot less blue and more brand colours to match our brochure - that's a win. 😎 πŸ’ͺ

My car suddenly gets a promotion. πŸš—πŸ“¦πŸ’Ό

Today it’s:
βœ… Van
βœ… Office
βœ… Meeting room

Who needs a fleet when you’ve got a seatbelt, a boot full of boxes, and a laptop balanced? πŸ˜…

If you’ve ever turned your car into a mobile HQ, you’re my people.

05/06/2026

Big news brewing at SEElight HQ: new premises incoming. πŸ“¦

More room. More stock on the shelf. Faster turnaround on the things people need yesterday.

And β€” fingers crossed β€” fewer boxes living in the back of my car. (My wife is also fingers-crossing. Aggressively.)

Watch this space.

I'll be honest β€” I didn't get the AI hype.

Figured it was glorified Google and used ChatGPT for a bit, did some cool things, but found its limitations quite quickly. It definately didn't have the groundbreaking feel I was looking for.

Thought it was more for coders and tech start-ups, not much use to a bloke who delivers downlights out the back of a car.

Then I actually sat down with Claude's Cowork tool.

The amount that it can get done has been a proper eye-opener. I tell it what I need in plain English, and it cracks on with, which means I have a bit more time again for Marketing :)

Not sponsored, not paid to say it. Just a small-business co-owner who was wrong. 😎

09:17 – "Any chance you can get 100 downlights to us urgently?"

13:20 – Downlights delivered.

Sometimes the fastest courier is… just getting in the car πŸš—πŸ’¨

I'm sure some of you can relate to the small-business life and the ultra-dedication to customer service to compete with the big boys.

If you are a local electrical wholesaler in the Milton Keynes area and want this level of service, our door is always open - we've got you.
