I've been busy practicing my lefthanded knitting in preparation for my Autumn Learn to Knit Classes (please book or message me if you're interested!). This little video was created to help any lefthanders who have a problem with stitches appearing to be 'crossed' when they do stocking stitch. If you have an alternative way to do this, please let me know in the comments below.

Do you think I should use this cone of Welsh Knitting Wool or not? I really love the wool, but worry that I am destroying a piece of history once I take the wrapper off. It was found when I was helping a friend clear out an old house in Wales. The label says it was made at a factory for 'Ex-Servicemen and other Disabled Employees' at the Cambrian Factory in Llanwrtyd Wells (Llanwrtyd Wells Updates). I think it may date from between 1971 (i.e. post decimalisation) and 1974 when a reference in the Welsh Library says the factory closed. Can anyone shed anymore light on the history of this factory and yarn making there?

Sparking joy and creativity in the next generation is one of the best parts of being a crochet tutor! Watching these 8-year-olds discover the magic of crochet has been an absolute delight. And that 'blue French fry' is a testament to the incredible potential that lies within every child. 🎉

If you'd like to empower your child with the gift of crochet or knitting, I'd love to guide them on their creative journey. Individual lessons available for your child and up to two friends, accompanied by a responsible adult. £20 per hour for one child, £10 extra per hour for each additional child. Let's unlock their full potential! 💫

This is my latest creation - a dahlia inspired cushion cover made as a Ruby Wedding anniversary for some good friends of mine. The stitches are relatively simple, but there are a lot of them...over 250g of yarn and lots of time was used to make it! I'm all excited now about making more floral inspired cushion covers, so watch this space. Commissions for small crochet items are undertaken. Message me if you have something in mind.

My latest crochet creation, although its hardly the weather for it now! All made from single ply (don't I just love it!) aran wool, most of it found second-hand. It was in a sorry state when I found it, the moths had a real feast with it! After unravelling lots of bits, I popped it into the freezer (for at least the 48-72 hours recommended). So fingers crossed there are no more moths! I'm also hoping that the colours don't run as I think the yarn may have been hand dyed - I haven't found any commercially available yarn with such subtle colour changes. If you know of a source, please do tell! This crochet top down jumper is a great yarn busting project.

I am feeling super proud of my students Nicola and Geraldine for completing their beautiful granny square bags made in my classes (with homework in between!). They both did really well to stick at it and get the job done.

If you would like to learn to crochet or build on the skills you already have, check out my website and subscribe to my newsletter. You will get a discount code for your first course and be the first to know when new courses are launched.

My second time around doing a visible repair on the elbow of this lovely wool jumper. This time I turned my leaf into a tree and added another for company. Then I decided to throw in some bluebells for good measure!

If you have something knitted that you'd like me to repair, visibly or invisibly just let me know. Payments in kind accepted if you're local! With a huge collection of yarns suitable for darning I'm bound to have something that's a pretty good match!

I am very proud of the reviews I have received for my learn to crochet and other workshops I have earned over the last year - every single one of them five star. I have really enjoyed teaching and seeing the progression my students have made. I will soon be taking a break over the summer, but wanted to take the time to share these reviews with you first. To find out about the new courses I'm planning for the Autumn you just need to follow me 😁
