In response to yesterday's news ...

This image dates back a few years and is the product of upwards of thirty iterations of a pattern I was trying to manifest. Then I had asked my "Natural Intelligence" to generate something romantic with a hint of whimsy and in time this was the result.

After I had left my position in conventional Web 1.0 content creation I set my own personal wiring the unique challenge to produce images that would justify using fancy dyes on pristine cotton.

At no point then was AI a temptation or even a remote possibility.
What a blessing! My midlife hero's journey would have been such a crashing and disappointing bore. No birthing pains. No neuroplastic enhancement. No personal growth.

Well, you will all be delighted to hear, the AI-aided project is now shelved and my tinkering ways will for the time being remain restricted to my responsiblities as executive chef for the delightful creative engine that is .

Infinite thanks for your brilliant and candid feedback.

I have a cunning plan, but at 65, I am pretty certain I cannot see it through without the assistance of at least one of the logos you see above.
So I need your feedback before I even set to it.

First the idea: to launch a Members Area where you can find making videos, pattern ideas and a one-size-fits-all Swap Shop.

Yes. It feels right for those who love our stuff to be able to freshen up their wardrobes without having to buy new every single time.

I am well aware that Penny makes lovely things and that she does so in a dizzying variety of colours. Because I face it every time I have to vote on the pattern samples before we order fabric: FOMO! The fear of missing out is excruciating.

So ... the Swap Shop would mean never having to say "If only ...!"

Now to the moral maze: I can't build any of this without a genial bot at my side.

And the question is straight forward: Are y'all OK with it? Is it alright to use AI for a project that is in spirit and delivery ecologically sound? Just so you know: is 100% landfill averse + 100% AI skittish.

Tricky stuff.
