Another throwback, sorry for the radio silence on new things, I haven't had a chance to get back to my pen as I still have the youngest at home this week! Fingers crossed for some progression next week πŸ™‚

I will be starting some autumn themed bits imminently - when I can get the boys back to going to bed at a decent hour, the house isn't in need of a lit match instead of a light clean and i have some time in the evenings to myself again πŸ˜…

I can't believe the summer hols are almost done and dusted, but at the same time, I'm ready to get some routine back into my days πŸ˜…

My boys and I spent the weekend at the beach with a friend, I thought it the perfect opportunity to get a photo of my latest creation - a "weather worn" effect sign for a summer house home Gym down by the coast 🌊

They spent a lot of time rock pooling so it seemed fit to take a photo there πŸ˜…

I find myself looking for the little gifts in nature, and within that I find myself.

This beautiful Red Admiral found its way into my garden this morning, a rose among the thorns which envelop my wall.

I look for the butterflies often as they were my Grandma's favourite.

Ive been taking close ups of creatures lately hoping that one day I might burn a picture that truly encapsulates them for eternity.

All finished! He realised in hindsight that he had used too much black and I asked him if he would like me to draw lines back on so we can see the creeper still. He also went over the 'R' for room so took the initiative to write it back on himself. He was happy for me to re-line, so the picture on the right is what it looks like after I did it and I think I managed to salvage the original 'R' πŸ₯° what do yiu think?

After my 6 year old's offer to help with my painting the other night I've given him the task of painting his own bedroom sign...let's see how it turns out!

I'll be using this as a practice piece to work on my painting - it has been such a long time since I have just painted rather than burned and then painted so this is going to be lots of fun! There's lots to work on with technique such as lighting, shading, working on how i create a flow of water, textures in the trees etc.

This piece is for myself, I rarely make something for me but I've added in a lot of elements that are my absolute favourite!

I love foxes, bodies of water, the moonlight, flowers and whimsical things like mushrooms and it will all mostly be on rock and moss.....I'll likely add in some fireflies the forefront of the painting just to add that extra magical touch!

I'm excited for this! Follow along with me to see how it turns out and reflect on what i could do better πŸ’™

This was lots of fun to do and I'm going to challenge myself more in the future when it comes to painting - practice makes perfect!

In this particular piece, there were two elements of light in a dark setting so I did my best to illuminate areas where the light of the moon or the fire would project.
