It’s all in the details ✨

There’s a lot that happens between choosing a beautiful fabric and a finished lampshade leaving my studio.

Cutting, positioning, rolling, sewing, trimming, finishing… and occasionally adding a little extra sparkle.

It’s the part of Fait par Moi that you don’t always see — but it’s also the part I love.

Every shade passes through my hands, and those tiny finishing details can be what turns a piece of fabric into something really special.

I absolutely love seeing my lampshades in their new homes — and these five couldn’t be more different. ❤️

Bold and contemporary, dark and dramatic, pretty botanicals or a little William Morris… it’s amazing how much the right lampshade can change the feel of a room.

A little retro colour for your Tuesday 🧡

There’s something about these warm oranges, rich reds and chocolate browns that instantly gives me 1970s vibes — and I absolutely love it.

Bold florals like this are such an easy way to bring personality into a room, particularly if the rest of your interior is fairly simple.

And a lampshade is a brilliant place to experiment.

You don’t have to wallpaper an entire room or buy a bright sofa to introduce pattern. Sometimes one fabulous piece is enough.

I particularly love this fabric made up as a rectangular shade — the clean, simple shape lets that gloriously bold print do all the talking.

And with autumn just around the corner, these colours suddenly feel rather perfect. 🍂

I make lampshades in all sorts of shapes, sizes and styles — from contemporary drums and rectangular shades to hand-pleated designs, luxurious linings and wonderfully extravagant fringed shades.

Perhaps you have a lamp base you can’t find the right shade for, a fabric you love, or an idea for something completely different.

That’s the part I love.

There’s something rather special about making things by hand. ✨

Every Fait par Moi lampshade is made individually in my Birmingham studio — measured, cut, rolled and finished by hand.

It takes a little longer than mass production, but that’s rather the point.

Whether you choose one of my existing designs or commission something completely bespoke, each shade is made with care, attention to detail and a genuine love of beautiful fabric.

A lampshade doesn’t have to be round 💛

I love how the clean lines of this rectangular shade completely change the look of a lamp.

Paired with this bold mustard geometric fabric, it feels fresh and contemporary — and it’s a lovely example of how changing just one element can give a room a completely different feel.
