One for all you families out there... lots of free activities to keep the little ones entertained over the summer break - I will be at Eden Hall Gardens in Penmaenmawr making a contemporary version of the Strawberry Sellers Pottle on Saturday August 1st 🍓

It comes around so quickly....our Summer of Fun programme - FREE for children and families, starts on Saturday.

The calendars were distributed to schools before they finished for the summer and we have some left in the museum - please pop in to pick one up.

Our theme this year is Victoriana and we've gone all out - there are Victorian crafts, circus skills and even a dino day with a giant raptor visiting us who will be roaming Eden Hall Garden!

Saturday starts a bit more gently - children will learn how to make Victorian paper pockets and use calligraphy. Lots of other crafts on offer too!

As usual, the programme runs every Saturday and Wednesday throughout the summer holidays. Most of the sessions are in Eden Hall Garden, with the exception of two that are being held on the village green in Dwygyfylchi.

We look forward to seeing you throughout the summer holidays :)

If you haven't heard, Ryan The Giggling Goat Farm Shop and Bakery is open again this Saturday and for the first time he will be selling our honey from the bee's we keep on his small holding - I am calling it the Giggling Goat edition.... I am certain it is going to taste incredible drizzled on his home made sourdough 😋!

I haven't seen one of these before - a Hornet Moth!

This is one of the benefits of not spraying chemicals on our land - we get a diverse range of visitors - just hope he/she doesn't end up as someone's dinner 🙈!

I have had a lot of requests for Hot Honey lately, it is not something we are going to be offering but don't let that stop you making your own!

1 jar of honey - I used a 227g jar of my spring 2026 honey from our home apiary.

1 chilli - sliced.

1 teaspoon of red wine vinegar.

Heat all ingredients gently for 10 mins (longer if you want it extra spicy).

Allow to cool slightly in the pan and then very carefully strain into a jar being careful not to burn yourself as sticky Hot honey would hurt!

Leave to cool 😎.

If using a fresh chilli, this recipe will keep for about 4 days - Honey is highly hygroscopic - this means that it naturally absorbs moisture from the environment - to make Hot Honey that lasts longer you could use dried chilli flakes as they will not add so much moisture to your recipe.... but lets be honest, it isn't going to last long enough to go off because you are going to scoff it 🤣😋!

Little chicks moved outside this week, initially they spent a few days separated from the bigger two just to get used to each other.

Today, I let them mix, and there has been no issues - in a few more weeks, they will all be able to free range with my rescue girls.

As Brahma's, they still have an awful lot of growing to do, the big chicks are now 9.5 weeks old and little chicks are 5.5 weeks old... I think there are 5 boys and 1 girl 🙈!
