PFAS – often called “forever chemicals” – are back in the news following a BBC investigation in Lancashire.

So what if you want to reduce PFAS in your drinking water?

In this short video, we look at three established treatment technologies: reverse osmosis, activated carbon and specialist anion-exchange resin – and explain why simply seeing “carbon” or “ion exchange” on a filter doesn't necessarily mean it is suitable for PFAS reduction.

Our latest guide also looks at the bigger picture: how PFAS can move through wastewater, sewage sludge, farmland, the food chain and water sources.

Does a water filter waste water?

Most systems don't, but there is one major exception you need to know about.

While standard filters act as simple barriers, reverse osmosis systems operate differently by flushing contaminants away. We explain the efficiency gap between these technologies so you can understand exactly what is happening in your plumbing.

Countertop vs Under-Sink Water Filters: Is Your Worktop Space Worth It?

Would you give up valuable worktop space for cleaner, better-tasting water? 🚰

We're torn on this one and want your honest opinion. Countertop filters are quick to fit and easy to swap cartridges on — but they sit right there on your worktop, taking up prime kitchen real estate. Under-sink systems free up that space completely, but they're a bit more involved to install.

Swipe through to see the trade-offs 👉 then tell us in the comments: would you sacrifice worktop space for filtered water, or is that counter space non-negotiable?

We read every comment — genuinely curious where you land on this one.
