Time to keep your holiday reads looking their best and snuggle them up in their own protective book sleeve. They’re protected from dirt, wet splashes and they don’t get dog-eared and untidy. It’s definitely pe***ng out weather right now ☀️ and today’s breeze makes it a dream drying day!

I love a peg bag, they’re pretty much a must if you do hang out washing but there’s also something so nostalgic about them, my grandma had one, my mum does and I’ve always had one too. It’s hereditary! ☺️

Im going to make a set of peg bags using some lovely linen fabrics that I picked up recently. They feature some vintage style floral prints which I just love. Here’s the first finished bag, this one’s got a different front and reverse - what do you think? 😊

One of my favourite views in my hometown of the Rossendale Valley, especially on such a lovely day like today, is the stunning Ilex Mill on the banks of the River Irwell.

This cotton mill built in 1856, reached its peak of production in 1895 when it had 50,000 spindles and 748 looms. Ilex Mill leveraged the valley’s abundant water resources for initial power needs, supplemented by nearby coal deposits that facilitated the transition to steam engines as the industry evolved. After years of cotton production, the mill turned its hand to the footwear industry before reverting to textile production until its final closure in 1981. Following a number of unsuccessful plans for its future, Ilex Mill stood empty for 15 years and was almost condemned to demolition when it was sold, renovated and converted into beautiful modern apartments.

I love both seeing the mill from road level and looking down on it from the hills far above. From up above, I also get to see two more mills and their original chimneys. Can you spot all 3 in the final pic? Oh, and did you spot the heron too, busy fishing for his supper? 😊

Welcome to , I’d love to show you round a bit and hope you like what you see! ❤️

Waterfoot Yard is a fantastic community meeting place which houses a wonderful cafe with delicious food freshly prepared by and Neil and their fabulous team. Alongside the cafe there’s a fantastic curated space, full of a huge collection of local crafts, foods, gifts and home wares (you’ll find moi in there! 😊). And, if that’s not enough, Waterfoot Yard also plays host to many weekend and evening events including live music performers, yoga, quiz nights, makers markets, cocktail parties, art classes, bingo and specialty foodie nights- to name but just a few!!

Housed in the beautiful old library building in Waterfoot, Rossendale, the Yard is a fabulous place to eat, play and shop. There’s family and disabled access and facilities and also a play corner for children. Dogs welcome too! What’s not to love?!

A lovely little restock of book sleeves and a few lavender hearts (more on their way!) at

💜💜 Gorgeous new set of lavender hearts! 💜💜

I’m so pleased with these, how pretty are they? Everything in Liberty fabric just sings, they really are so lovely and a perfect choice of gift for so many occasions!

Have I missed any other ‘sayings’ or affirmations? Please comment if you can think of more little words that I could include on my hearts, if it can fit, I can write it!

All my wording is stitched my myself on my sewing machine using a style called free motion embroidery. Basically it’s me using my needle like a pencil. I guide the fabric under the needle, pretty much like you do with a pencil on paper. It’s not the machine doing the work, I don’t pre-program it like other embroidery machines, it’s taken a few good years of practice and some very wobbly starts to get to this stage - and I still want to get better!
