St Andrew's Day Showcase and Networking event "Scotland: land of innovation" will be hosted on Thursday 27th November 2025 at the Ambassador’s Residence in Paris. 🇫🇷
It is organised by Scottish Development International (SDI), the international arm of Scottish Enterprise, Scotland’s national economic development agency. For 2025's edition, SDI are bringing the best of Scotland in terms of innovation through a showcase of a fine selection of 15 innovative Scottish companies across all economic sectors. MYB Textiles Ltd is taking part in the event as it is working on a cotton flocking project called FLOCC which fits very well the sustainability agenda.
MYB prides itself on innovation and sustainability. Its recent innovations include its active participation in the collaborative initiative called FLOCC focusing on converting MYB’s cotton textile waste clips into natural flock fibre.
This closed-loop, cellulose-based material can be used in its raw form or processed for electrostatic textile flocking, which creates a soft, short velvet pile on fabric or paper. Natural cotton flock is rarely available in small quantities, making this a unique, sustainable, non-synthetic alternative for textile flocking.
The amazing work is with and is something we are all very excited about and cant wait to tell you more about! Making something new for the industry and once again challenging the idea of "traditional lace".
