🔥 Yard Questions: Blazin Edition 🔥
A few things we get asked fairly regularly...
Why do kiln dried logs burn better?
Because most of the moisture has been removed before they reach you. Less energy is wasted burning off water, which means more heat from every log.
Can I store kiln dried logs outside?
You can, but they are best kept covered and off the ground. A bit of airflow is your friend. A puddle is not.
Why are some logs heavier than others?
Different hardwoods have different densities. Dense woods like oak tend to burn longer, while lighter woods can catch more quickly.
Do kiln dried logs really make that much difference?
Absolutely. Easier lighting, less smoke, more usable heat and a cleaner burn. Once you've used properly dried wood, it is hard to go back.
The right fire starts with the right wood.
If you've ever got a question about logs, storage, burning or what suits your setup best, call into the yard and have a chat. We love talking about this stuff almost as much as we love a good fire 🔥🪵
