Winter is coming!

So in preparation, here’s a log store.
1900mm tall and 1400mm wide thats 74x64” with a felt covered marine ply roof. Sized to suit the box on shot.

The importance of airflow in and around the wood cannot be understated. Without it your logs will not dry and the appearance of mould will not be far away. Therefore every board on the back, sides & shelves is spaced by a minimum of 6mm (1/4”)

An oak live edge table and bench seat on powder coated steel frame legs.

A few firsts for me here.
1. Taught myself how to weld (badly) before seeking professional help to tidy it up.
2. Bending wood. The backrest for the bench needed a subtle curve which required a little steam to achieve.
3. Bow tie inlay was cut in to strengthen a small crack.

Thanks to Peter’s Welding for the powder coating.

Every house cat needs somewhere to relax and get some sunshine & air, and most importantly stay safe.

The solution?

A “catio” (cat-patio). This one was built and erected in Co. Louth, 6m long by 0.9m wide, encloses 2 windows, and has a door at one end to allow human access when the fur-babies don’t want to come in!

Anyone interested in a similar build, please drop me a message on Facebook or Instagram.

Such beautiful grain. The movement and slide toward the fissure is stunning, and will only get better looking with oil

A design feature that I included in my workbench build was the ability to flatten medium sized slabs (coffee table size) with a router sled.

Threaded inserts on the face and threaded dowel pins on the back, with all parts stored on the back.
