Project Baskets! 🪡😄 I have been wanting to sew this much larger version of my thread catcher baskets for aaages 😅 In fact, I’ve had the fabric for this one waiting on the side here in the studio for an entire year 🙈 But I have finally sewn the first test project basket! 🥳😄
Now, I’ve made it large enough to fit a 5” embroidery hoop in comfortably (it also fits this 6” hoop that I’m currently using in nicely too), together with any thread bobbins, scribbled notes and bits and pieces. So when I’m thinking it’s time for a bit of stitching, I can just grab that basket and everything I need for that particular hoop is all just there inside together 🤩
I’ve been using this one this past week… and I LOVE IT! It’s been super handy, and I am over the moon with how my fabric looks at the larger scale – you can see all the little details soo much clearer 😍
BUT… I have a few things to think about…
I definitely need to do some more testing with how I sew them. For this one, I sewed it in exactly the same way as my thread catcher baskets, but purely because of the size, I think it just needs a bit more structure in there 🪡
But my biggest issue is that ... to be completely transparent… I’m not sure whether introducing another product that is so handmade is a wise decision at the moment 😄 I am battling my love and excitement of this idea with how stretched I’ve found myself this year. It’s one of the reasons it’s taken me so long to sew just this test basket! But maybe I can just sew a few here and there and not worry about having a constant supply and stock of them? 🤔🤷♀️ Because this one really is lovely! 😍
And if I did bring them into the Bluebell Love world as a loovely new product… I have no idea how I’d actually post them! 😆😅
So… we’ll see 😄 I have a bit of pondering to do. But I certainly have the will… so there must be a way! 😄
