Tear Up - Willow & Fibre Festival is the most rewarding thing I've ever done.

Thank you to everyone who has embraced our little festival. Time seems to stand still for 1 week every 2 years in a small corner of Staffordshire, where weird, wonderful and magical things happen.

The aim when we started was to create connections, community and share knowledge of our craft. A place to encourage new makers & inspire seasoned ones. These will always remain Tear Up Festivals core principles.

Basketry in all its forms is absolutely knocking it out the park, long may this continue💪

I look forward to doing it all again in two years time. We hope you'll join us & thank you all again for making it possible🙏🌿

One of the wonderful things about basketmaking is that it's needy, and requires your attention. Woe betide I become complacent, if and when I do the basket is quick to show my lack of care.

Hamper details - the top of these chest hampers are finished off with a 5 rod wale which acts as a lip for the lid to rest on. The section above is the narrowest rod border available, a 2 rod border, this is necessary to leave ample space for the lid to slide over.
The best result for me is when the lid and border ever so lightly kiss when opening or shutting😘🌿

If you ever get chance to make a basket, I highly recommend it, the feeling is bludy lovely!

Creating a book has taught me an incredible amount, including publishing terms like “lifestyle shot” (pictured above) and “standfirst,” the opening paragraph of a new section or chapter.
What began with my main concern being the need for textured pages has gradually evolved into a focus on the book’s actual content, you'll be pleased to hear😂🌿

For the next two days we're filming the last sections of my book, so to tide the timeline over here's a series of baskets I made a while ago for The Peninsula, a swanky hotel in London💪🌿

This book has certainly been a marathon not a sprint😂
I take my hat off to folks who write books as well as have jobs, you're all mad👏

I can't wait to share this with you all and also can't thank my publishers enough for their patience & guidance, especially Tom, I salute you sir🫡🌿
