Gender reveal bouquets!

I’ve made plenty of flowers for birthdays, thank yous, celebrations and just because…

…but this is a first.

And I absolutely love that flowers can become part of such a special moment.

Girl 🩷 or Boy 💙?

Two bouquets, two possibilities, and someone about to find out some very exciting news.

And it got me thinking…

There really is a reason for flowers for almost every occasion. Some I’ve thought of, and clearly some I haven’t!

What occasion would you love to have locally grown flowers for?

Harvested seed can look like a bit of a mess…

So once it’s dry, it’s time to winnow.

Basically, I’m separating the good, heavy seed from all the bits of dried flower and chaff I don’t need.

It’s surprisingly satisfying watching it go from this 👀 to clean seed ready to sow.

And that’s another little bit of next year’s flower field already sorted.

Anyone else find this ridiculously satisfying 🤣

So I’m sooo excited to get sowing!!

I’ve treated myself to professional growing trays, and I’m ridiculously excited to get them into action.
They’re built to last, make growing from seed more efficient and should save me time and waste season after season.
A proper investment in the flower field.

But let me explain why 👇

After another long, hot summer, I’ve decided to ditch the soil blocks.
Way to much time and energy has been spent watering those little blocks, sometimes twice a day!

They have been drying out too quickly, and because they need to be planted out pretty quickly, they’ve been tricky to manage, when we’ve had those long scorching days!

So I’m changing things up.
Less battling with dried out seedlings, more happy healthy plants.
More gorgeous flowers for you.

And these beauties are from
So I’m really looking forward to putting them through their paces here on the flower field.

And honestly, I cannot wait to get these filled with tiny seedlings.

Now I just need to decide what to sow first 👀

MONDAY MOTIVATION

What’s made my flowers strong and resilient this year?

🌱 Good soil
💧 Keeping them watered
🌻 Growing lots of different varieties
✂️ Succession planting and adapting
☀️ Learning to work with whatever the weather throws at us

…and apparently singing and dancing to them every morning. 💃

I’m not sure there’s much scientific evidence for that last one, but I’m sticking with it.

And then there’s you lot ❤️

Every bunch that leaves the field, every lovely message, every customer coming back for another bunch, every “I absolutely LOVE these” moment… it all makes the early mornings, muddy boots, watering, weeding and occasional flower growing meltdown completely worth it.

This year has definitely reminded me that resilience isn’t about everything going perfectly.

It’s about adapting, having another go, finding the joy in it… and occasionally dancing around your flowers like nobody’s watching. 😂

So here’s your Monday reminder:

Keep showing up. Keep adapting. Keep finding the fun. And don’t underestimate what a little bit of joy can grow.

Now excuse me while I go and sing to the dahlias. 💃🌺

Some days you’ve got it… and some days you’ve just got to roll with it. 🤣

This morning’s gym session?
Let’s just say my energy forgot to clock in. 😅

But I wasn’t about to let an off day win.

If I couldn’t lift weights, I could shift topsoil.
Beds topped up, frustration firmly buried, and somehow I ended the day feeling stronger than when it started. 👊

Off days happen. Giving up doesn’t!

Tell me… do you power through an off day, or call it and try again tomorrow??
