Sometimes, 5cm really does make all the difference.

The height of a pendant, the clearance around an island, the length of a curtain or the size of a rug. Individually, they might seem like small details, but together they can completely change how a space looks and feels.

Good interior design is often about the small things you don’t immediately notice. Getting the proportions right so everything simply feels like it belongs.

Because the smallest details can make the biggest difference.

A beautiful kitchen is one thing. A kitchen that works beautifully is another.

Before we think about colours and finishes, we consider how you actually live in the space — how you cook, move, entertain and what you need to store.

From the flow of the room to sockets, lighting and those all-important practical details, it’s the decisions you don’t always see that can make the biggest difference.

Because good kitchen design should make everyday life easier, not just look good.

The details are coming together at Project Pear Tree.

This week saw the installation of the island worktop, adding another layer of character to what will be a truly bespoke kitchen. The natural stone is already transforming the space, and can we take a moment for that pantry?! 😍

A huge thank you to Algarve for another fantastic installation. They’ll be back soon to fit the remaining upstand, and we look forward to sharing the finished result.

Every update brings us one step closer to revealing the complete space.

From installation to completion.

Watching a kitchen come together is one of the most rewarding stages of any project. As each element falls into place, the design starts to feel less like a plan and more like the heart of the home.

Here’s a look at the transformation at Homefield, from installation day to the finished space.

“Oh, you’re an interior designer… your camera roll must be full of beautiful interiors.”

Reality? 😂

It’s mostly blurry site photos, plumbing details, paint samples, electrical layouts, supplier updates, measurements and approximately 437 photos of the same wall from different angles.

The glamorous side of interior design isn’t always glamorous—but it’s these behind-the-scenes moments that help create the beautiful spaces you see at the end.
