Hello friends!!!

As we have now sent all our wedding invites, I thought I'd share the photos i took during the process.

And here's a nutshell summary of the process:
Envelopes:
- double sided 12x12 cardstock cut in half
- scored to have edges folded in
- edge punch joining edges
- complimenting ribbon with dab of glue on back

Invites:
- play until happy with wording, fonts, formatting, colour and print on cream paper
- rough edge ruler to tear out all wording sheets
- emboss each sheet
- run distress ink pads over rough edges
- guillotine green cardstock larger than printer pages
- edge punch green cardstock
- stick sheets to cardstock
- pop in envelope
- tie ribbon

It took ages, and I had help from Paul, Amy and Georgia.

You'll see the punch pattern isn't beautifully even on corners, i am happy it isn't perfect, they are homemade, and they are each individually made.

More importantly, they are unique! There is nothing like them anywhere... and what bride doesn't want unique 🥰

Just wanted to say hello to you all, and let you know ill start posting regularly from October!!!

If you know me, then you'll know i am currently crafting for our wedding and obviously can't post anything im working on, or have finished, until after our wedding.

In meantime, here was another evening with friends. Great fun again, but i can categorically confirm I need a LOT more practice if im hoping to achieve a good finish 🤣

I have had one of those (possibly) crazy, just woken up ideas.

Id need to look into things like insurances, but...

I wonder if I could offer 2 hour craft sessions for up to 4 people at my dining room table, give people the chance to dabble in some of the crafts I do, and give them a chance to discover a love for themselves.

My head thinks £15 per person to explore a craft i know about, tea/coffe/squash and their take home pieces.

Is this a good idea?
Is £15 pp reasonable?

Hey 👋

I have been involved with a bit of non wedding crafting, so is something i can share here!

Had a girls night round a friend's, and clay hearts were made, and previously made hearts decorated with waxes, paints (though i took oil paints instead of acrylics... doh!) And mica powder.

Tray showing the premade hearts which i had made and left to dry out ready for painting.

It has to be said... trying nd creating new things is great for cheering a person up... including my friends.

It was lovely watching how engrossed they became in their crafting, and how pleased they were with the results.

Hey 😊

Made my very first silicon moulds a few weeks ago, and finally used them today, one for wedding project (which I won't share here) one for Christmas bauble, which is what I had originally bought the mould for... in 2023!

Anyway, thought id share here, just in case anyone crafty wonders if they can do their own moulds.

The kit i bought was used for a metal object and the resin bauble. Both items are fine and both moulds have the detail of the original item, and I've used ADC.

The moulds are very flexible, and the kit is easy to use.

Wedding Save The Dates/Evenings - handmade!

Wedding crafting is going well... and I can actually share a project here!

I really wanted something not the norm for our wedding stationery, first peace, of course, was our Save The Dates.

I love how these have turned out, interesting, different, unique, fitting to our basic theme.

The pictures show the step-by-step process.

We're engaged! A shift in crafty time ahead 😁

Hello!! My dear love proposed on the 10th of May... 17 years since a mutual friend introduced us... and after very, very little hinting from myself... and our neices, he finally resigned himself to the inevitable.... and presented me with the most perfect and beautiful ring ever.

Now I'm thinking, there are plenty of bits I would love to do for our wedding, and I'll start sharing those with you over the coming months.

I do have a theme in mind (barring my princess dress, never worn one, never even had a proposal before this, so my dress is going to be FAB-U-LOUS) and that theme is rural/rustic/bohoish.

I'm not one for flowers, they die and dry on my mantlepiece, im not responsible enough even for a cactus! So I sure as heck am not gonna spend shed loads of money of a one day event! Uh uh! No way!

Soooo, I'm going the diy route, spending as little as possible on dried flowers!

And I'm even gonna see if I can dry and use flowers from the garden.

I hung some gyp last week, and it's so hot I think it's dry already. I only bought 5 stems, just so I could experiment. As my bouquets are going to be simple, the gyp is going to be the most expensive thing, so we've even planted some.

The florist also gave me some dried, presumably destined for the bin, and I'd brought a little mixed box of dried flowers from etsy, laylasprettythings, so I made a bridesmaid size bouquet which im really pleased with for a first attempt.

Now ive got the fresh gypsophila that's dried still hanging, and tonight I've also cut from the garden and hung. It'll be interesting to see if any of my garden flowers dry nicely.

Anyway, fun trying, and as I now know I like trying to arrange, that means I'll save money by diy, even if my garden doesn't work out and I have to buy dried flowers in.

Anyway, that's me for now, do keep an eye out for my successes/failures and fun along the way

Georgia's exhibition in Northampton market square. There were several pieces to look at, with an interesting and abstract way to portray life as experienced by people with fibromyalgia and those with mobility issues. Well done

Hello!

As usual I've lost my crafty mojo, always happens after Xmas.

However, a work mate asked me to make something for her music loving son's birthday, and to make it personal. The young lad plays an electric guitar and likes black.

Mum wanted his name and age.

I wanted to keep this simple but unusual, with a view to this still being liked as the lad grew up, hence the quite industrial look.

So, primed a canvas black, stencil work with the quote (under last half of name) adc and silicon moulds for embellishments, wooden numbers and letters stuck to canvas, painted another layer of black primer across it all, stuck on black cheese cloth, worked all over with multiple metallic waxes.

Mum seemed happy, hopefully son was too.
