For anyone who suffers from allergies, asthma, dermatitis, or chemical sensitivities (MCS), decorating can feel like a health minefield. Traditional paints often release volatile organic compounds (VOCs), harsh solvents, and toxic off-gassing fumes that trigger severe reactions—long after the paint has dried.

We engineered Little Knights so that nobody has to compromise their health to transform their home.

What makes our paint safe for sensitive homes:

🌿 100% Zero-VOC & Odourless: Truly zero emissions, not just “low VOC.” You can paint a room and sleep in it the very same night with zero toxic fumes.

🌿 Allergen & Irritant Free: Formulated without harsh chemical solvents, plasticisers, or common sensitising agents that trigger skin flare-ups and respiratory issues.

🌿 Pet, Child & Baby Safe: Completely safe from the moment you open the tin, making it ideal for nurseries, family spaces, and sensitive households.

A huge thank you to M. Roberts for taking the time to share this review! Knowing our paint gives people peace of mind in their own homes makes everything we do worth it.

Black mould is one of the biggest health hazards in UK homes nowadays, luckily something homeowners are wisening up to the dangers of.

Unfortunately, so are some paint manufacturers. But instead of fixing the root cause, many “solutions” that sound reassuring on the surface, can actually do more harm than good.

Swipe through to see 4 details you should look out for on paint labels when making your decorating choices. ➡️

We truly believe paint can be better. That’s why we didn’t just engineer a safer alternative—we’re actively working to raise awareness so you can protect your home and family.

(PS how we engineered our paint differently.

🌿 Inherent Protection: While other anti-mould coatings lose effectiveness over time, our unique, fully-certified antibacterial agent is built into the paint’s actual structure. It protects your walls for as long as the paint is on them—even after wiping and cleaning!

🌿 100% Breathable & Non-Toxic:Our paint is fully micro-porous, 100% Zero-VOC, completely odourless, and free from dairy proteins or heavy plastic seals.

🌿 Suppresses Mould & Mildew: Our advanced formulation kills bacteria on contact, inhibiting the spread of mould and fungal spores before they can even establish.)

See the Insights section on our website for more expert advice on how to spot, treat, and permanently prevent black mould, alongside practical health and home tips. 💡

Now that the intensity of the heatwave has broken, these last few cooler days have been such a welcome relief—finally allowing us to step outside and truly enjoy our gardens again.

It’s definitely given us food for thought, though. With warmer summers and intense heatwaves becoming part of our future, how we design, shade, and use our outdoor spaces is becoming just as important as how we curate our interiors.

Creating a sanctuary outside means thinking about how we can make our patios, garden nooks, and seating areas feel inviting, cool, and durable for every season—whether that’s painting garden furniture to reflect light, refreshing timber cladding, or adding quiet, shaded corners for family to gather safely.

Because your garden is an extension of your home, keeping it safe, non-toxic, and beautiful is everything. 💚

How colour theory can help you get a better night’s sleep in the heat. ☀️🧭 (Save for when you are next decorating)

With this year breaking temperature records, getting a good night’s sleep has felt like a massive challenge. While we can’t control the outdoor heatwave, we can use colour theory and room orientation to make our bedrooms feel physically cooler, calmer, and more restorative.
Depending on which way your bedroom faces, here is exactly how to use this palette to create the ultimate sleep sanctuary:

South-Facing Rooms: South-facing rooms get flooded with intense, blinding afternoon sun, making them feel trapped and stifling. The cool undertones of Sage act as a visual antidote, introducing a tranquil, refreshing nature-vibe that instantly lowers the perceived temperature.

North-Facing Rooms: North-facing rooms receive a chilly, blueish light all day, which can make them feel clinical or gloomy. Cowslip brings the perfect delicate warmth, making a naturally cold bedroom feel instantly bright, soft, and inviting without feeling heavy.

West-Facing Rooms: West-facing rooms start cool in the morning but blow up with intense, rich golden light late in the day. Almond Latte embraces that late-afternoon glow, transforming into a stunning, high-end biscuit-beige that feels incredibly calming as you wind down for bed.

East-Facing Rooms: East-facing rooms get bright morning sun but fall into cool shadow by the afternoon. Dusty is a beautifully balanced, muted neutral that keeps the morning fresh and bright, while remaining soft and serene in the evening shadows when it’s time to sleep.

Because all Little Knights finishes are 100% VOC-free and completely odourless, you can refresh your bedroom during the day and sleep in it that very night—completely free from harsh paint fumes.
