This weekend the clocks spring forward. An extra hour of daylight. Proper spring arriving officially. And right on cue: tulips. Everywhere.

Perfect timing to share my Tulips in the Border design 🌷

Two versions from one linocut:
🌸 Tulips in the Border - soft lilac and gentle pink (classic cottage garden elegance)
🌅 Sunset Tulips - warm coral, golden yellow, and vibrant orange (evening light captured)

Here’s to longer days and tulip season ☀️

Feels like overnight - one day nothing, the next day daffodils absolutely everywhere 🌼 Every roadside, every garden, every patch of green. March magic. Spring arriving all at once and I’m so ready for this shift ✨

My Dancing Daffodil designs for exactly this moment 💛

Funny how nature works. The snowdrops are already fading, bowing out gracefully to make room for spring’s next act.

But these? My ‘Snowdrops in the Garden’ notecards are proving surprisingly popular and still heading out the door every day 🤍

Two versions carved from the same lino block - classic garden greens and moody Night Garden purples. Both selling well, both permanent bloomers. The advantage of hand-carved flowers: they don’t know seasons. They just keep going.

Half term happened. Family time was prioritised. The to-do list got longer.

But this week I’m back at the print table, catching up and pushing forward. Starting with these Iris - the third flower in my British Garden Collection.

Named after the Greek goddess of rainbows, beloved by Van Gogh and Monet, and blooming reliably in British cottage gardens every spring since Victorian times.

Two colourways carved from the same lino block. Available now as art prints, greeting cards, and notecards. Link in bio.

Back to more carving - March flowers are calling 🌸

The snowdrops are nearly ready to retire, and the daffodils are queuing up to take over 💛

Out walking the Norfolk countryside this week, I’ve spotted bright green daffodil tips everywhere - pushing through drenched ground in spades despite all the rain. Not flowering yet, soon ✨

Cheerful little punctuation marks promising brighter days ahead in these dreary February weeks.

When winter feels heavy, look for the daffodils 💛 I’ll be honest - February in Norfolk has so far been grey skies, endless rain, and storms rolling through. Finding rhythm has been tricky. But then I spotted them: bright green shoots pushing up through the soggy ground.

The daffodils are coming. They always do.
“Dancing Daffodil” - design 2 of 26 in my British Garden Flowers collection. Carved when I needed reminding that brightness is on its way. Each cut of the blade, each curve of those cheerful petals, a promise that spring won’t be stopped by a bit of rain.

The forecast might say more grey days ahead, but the garden knows better. Brighter days are coming 🌼

This week: muddy boots, cold fingers, and snowdrop spotting 🌱 The Norfolk countryside is showing its first signs of life —white bells appearing along hedgerows and garden borders, brave little blooms that don’t wait for permission from the weather.

Back in the greenhouse, I’ve been clearing space and filling pots with winter flowers. Hyacinths for scent, hellebores for drama, more snowdrops because you can never have too many. There’s something about potting up plants in the depths of winter that feels like an act of faith.

My “Snowdrops in the Garden” linocut - hand-carved, hand-printed - captures exactly this feeling. The quiet determination of flowers that bloom when everything else is dormant.

The first bloom of 2026 🌱 “Snowdrops in the Garden” - handcarved, handprinted, arriving just as the real snowdrops push through the winter ground.

This is design 1 of 26 in my new “British Garden Flowers” collection. A year-long celebration of our most beloved garden companions, releasing two new designs each month.

From humble daisies to cheerful tulips, resilient poppies to defiant November pansies - each bloom handcarved in my Norfolk studio and brought to life with bold, contemporary colour. These are the flowers we choose to plant with hope each season, the ones that mark our doorsteps and brighten our borders.

Some you’ll recognise from previous collections, reimagined with fresh eyes. Others are new carvings. All of them celebrate the extraordinary beauty of the ordinary.

Available as original prints on cotton rag, art prints, notecards, and garland concertina cards.

Starting this year with intention: more joy, less doom-scrolling. 💙🧡

This is 'Joyful' - a design I carved a while back that's taken on new meaning as we move into 2026. I've repeated it here for the first time on a garland concertina card, and watching these bold blue blooms unfold feels like a small act of defiance against the heaviness.

The news feels relentless. Politics feels brittle. The world can feel like too much some days. But here's what I'm learning: I can't control any of that. What I can control is what I let in, where I place my attention, and how I choose to show up.

So this year, I'm choosing joy - not as toxic positivity or bypassing the hard stuff, but as a practice. Finding the good. Making space for colour and beauty. Celebrating small moments. Carving flowers with intention. Sending cards that say "I'm thinking of you" instead of staying silent. These concertina cards unfold like a reminder - joy multiplies when we make space for it.

If you're feeling the weight too, you're not alone. Let's be gentle with ourselves and intentional about what we invite in. Handcarved in my Norfolk studio. Because even when things feel uncertain, we can still make beautiful things. 🌸

Finding calm in the carving 🌸

The past few weeks have been hectic – packing orders and keeping up with the pre-Christmas rush. But in between it all, I’ve been slowly carving away at this dahlia design, my first attempt at capturing this particular bloom.

This one’s a bit of a one-off for now – not part of any collection, just a flower I’ve been wanting to carve for a while and a nice break to the festive frenzy.

Only 9 days till Christmas! ✨

Hand-carved in my Norfolk studio. Real lino, real carving tools, real patience. No shortcuts, just slow printmaking.

Today isn’t Black Friday in my studio – it’s Colour Friday 🌈

While big corporations chase billions, over one million small UK businesses are fighting to survive. And I can’t help but think: what would our world look like without the makers, the dreamers, the hand-carvers and creators who fill it with beauty?

Every linocut I carve, every botanical portrait I print by hand – these aren’t just products. They’re acts of resistance against the disposable. They’re choosing slow over fast, thoughtful over thoughtless, colour over grey.

Here’s what moves me most: when you spend £10 with a small business, up to £50 flows back into your local community. That’s the power of shopping small. That’s the ripple effect of choosing handmade.

So whether you buy a card from me today or not, I’m asking you to join me in celebrating Colour Friday. Browse Holly & Co // https://holly.co and discover my fellow makers. Visit your high street. Support an independent business. Leave a review for a small brand you love.

Let’s choose joy. Let’s choose creativity. Let’s choose the extraordinary makers who fill our lives with wonder.

Together, we’re painting the world in colour 💚🩵💛
