We had an incredible night last night celebrating Art/Film at the ! More photos to come… But firstly, we want to send a massive thank you to and for supplying wonderful gifts for attendees!

gifted INCREDIBLE handcrafted soaps sculpted to resemble fine art! The soaps serve as an exploration of the relationship between accessibility, touch and fine art. Plus, they smell incredible!

provided everyone a copy of their Film Ideas zine. Written by Babak Ganjei, the book includes a number of bizarre film pitches that exposes our thin, absurd media culture.

There are still a few goodie bags left, so we’ll be bringing them to on Thursday! Those who come to our pre-screening mixer in the cinema bar from 7-8 will be gifted one of these bags! Supplies is limited, so first come, first serve!

🚗🎬 We’re heading to our hometown for the final stop of the Art/Film Tour!

Join us at in Norwich for the conclusion of our book tour. On Thursday, 11 June at 20:00, we’re partnering with our favourite local cinema to show David Lynch’s Lost Highway. PLUS, meet us in the Cinema City bar an hour before the film for a mixer! More details👇🏼 and buy tickets via the 🔗 in bio.

Anonymous videotapes presage a musician’s murder conviction, and a gangster’s girlfriend leads a mechanic astray.

Lost Highway will be introduced by the book’s editor and Film East founder, , who will give a brief presentation on how costuming reflects a character’s role in Lynch’s surreal narrative, as detailed in ’s Art/Film essay.

Join us an hour before the screening for a mixer in the Cinema City bar to mingle with the Film East team and other local film fans.

The screening will take place at Cinema City in Norwich. The cinema is located at City Centre, St Andrews St, Norwich, NR2 4AD.

On the brink of his first international tour, Zed (), a British Pakistani rapper, decides to fly home to the UK to visit the family he has not seen in two years. In the midst of trying to reconnect with his parents, he is suddenly struck down by an autoimmune disease. As his condition worsens and his big breakthrough moment is in danger of vanishing into thin air, Zed descends into a physical and emotional crisis, amplified by vivid hallucinations.

The film will be introduced by , Art/Film‘s editor and Film East‘s founder, who will give a brief presentation on Riz Ahmed‘s multi-media project, The Long Goodbye, and how it connects to Mogul Mowgli‘s narrative, as explored in Art/Film’s “The Moving Exhibit.”

The screening will take place at Rich Mix in East London. The cinema is located at 35-47 Bethnal Green Rd., London, E1 6LA.

🇬🇧🚗🎬 The UK leg of the Art/Film International Tour kicks off 8 May!

On Monday, 8 June from 18:30-20:00, join us at the for a panel discussion on the film criticism industry and the relationship between art and cinema. More details 👇🏼 and buy tickets via the 🔗 in bio.

The BFI Reuben Library will host Art/Film’s editor, , along with four female and non-binary critics, to discuss topics related to the book and the current state of the criticism industry.

The conversation will ask questions such as how different art mediums appear on screen and the role they play in visual storytelling, how each panellist combines writing and artmaking, how accessible the industry is for women and non-binary individuals and more. Panellists include (Art/Filmessayist, Editor-in-Chief of Obscurae), .moonz (Art/Film essayist, Intimacy Coordinator), (filmmaker and Creative Nonfiction Film Weekend curator) and (film and cultural critic).

The panel will take place at the BFI Southbank Reuben Library, located at Belvedere Road, South Bank, London, SE1 8XT.

Stop three of the Art/Film International Tour is coming up!

We are headed to Philadelphia for our next event, partnering with the for a special screening of Pedro Almodóvar’s Broken Embraces on Saturday, May 30, at 6:30pm. More details 👇🏼 and get tickets via 🔗 in bio.

Broken Embraces will be introduced by , Art/Film’s editor and Film East’s founder, who will give a brief presentation on how references to surrealist artists appear throughout Almodóvar’s filmography, as detailed in ’ Art/Film essay.

The screening will take place in the Film Society Center’s Greenfield screening room, starting at 6:30pm. The film society is located at 1412 Chestnut St., Philadelphia, PA 19102.
