3 INCREDIBLE RENOVATION PROJECTS //

At IDSystems, we love to help with renovation projects, getting the chance to provide unique transformations to older builds and update them to a modern design is what we do best.

Here’s a glimpse at some fantastic renovation projects we’ve worked on:

1) Primrose Hill - A stunning town-house renovation on the banks of Regents Canal that had been bare shell before the new owners purchased it at auction. The renovation included a ground-floor extension with theEDGE2.0 sliding door as well as walk-on-rooflights, flooding the new open-plan kitchen with natural light.

2) South-East London Suburb – A more modern home, this family home in a conservation area had originally featured a lean-to conservatory but the recent renovation has completed transformed the connection between house and garden, utilising theEDGE2.0 sliding doors that incorporates both an open corner and panels that slide into a pocket in the wall.

3) West London Home - A Victorian terraced home that has been completely renovated and reimagined, with a 3 panel set of the SF75eco bifold doors that connect the living space and courtyard garden along with a glass box extension on the first floor that combines a lean-to-glass roof and fixed frame windows.

PUTNEY EXTENSION //

The owners of this Victorian home in Putney wanted to transform their ground floor into an open-plan family space with a seamless connection to the garden.

Designed to wrap around the side return, the new extension unlocks valuable additional floor space, creating a generous kitchen-dining area centred around a statement island.

To maximise light and openness theEDGE2.0, our ultra-slim sliding doors were selected for their narrow 20mm frames and design flexibility. The doors are configured as a pocket door system where the panels slide completely into a concealed pocket on this inside of the wall, leaving a clear, uninterrupted opening to the garden.

The result is a contemporary, light-filled extension that feels effortlessly connected to the outdoors all year round.

FAQ – How do I maintain my windows?

After covering how to maintain sliding doors, it’s only right to turn our attention to windows.

Just like doors, windows need a little regular care to keep them operating smoothly for years to come. Keeping them clean and free from debris such as stones, dirt, and dust is essential, as build-up can affect performance over time.

To clean the frames, simply use warm water and a mild detergent to remove any grime, grease, or residue, helping them stay in top condition and look their best. If you live in a coastal area, regular cleaning is especially important to protect the frames from the effects of salt spray.

By carrying out simple, routine maintenance, you’ll not only keep your windows looking great but also ensure they continue to perform reliably year after year.

3 Ways to Open Your Living Space to Natural Light //

With summer approaching, now is the time to consider how to make the most of longer days and bring more natural light into your home.

Roof lights - Our stylish flat roof lights combine high-performance design with clean, contemporary styling to draw light further into your home and flood living space with daylight from above.

Frame free corners - Frameless glass-to-glass corner windows allow light to move freely through your home as the sun shifts, creating bright, open-plan living spaces all day long.

Sliding doors - Our sliding doors combine large panes of glass with ultra-slim frames from just 20mm wide, to break down the barrier between inside and out.

PEVENSEY BAY //

Designed by Meloy Architecture and Design, this beachfront home has been completely reimagined to embrace its exceptional coastal setting.

The brief called for the complete reorganisation of the internal rooms of the house to make more of the sea views and to create a room in the roof for a stylish master bedroom.

A core part of making the most of the views was to choose glazing with minimal visual interruptions whilst ensuring the system offered protection and durability against the coastal elements. theEDGE2.0 sliding door system was the obvious choice for its clean, contemporary aesthetic which perfectly complemented the home’s complete transformation.

In addition to the three sets of doors across the beach facing elevations, carefully positioned clerestory windows draw daylight deeper into the home, enhancing the new open-plan living space across the depth of the house. Upstairs, a fourth set of doors opens with a frameless glass Juliet balcony, helping continue the theme of uninterrupted views out to sea.

A standout example of how high-performance glazing can frame the surroundings; just a stone’s throw from the sea.
