Canoeing down the Dordogne with blue sky and black kites above, water crowsfoot and kingfisher in the banks and a picnic with enough cheese to sink a ship!
Oh yes and some paper flowers thrown into the mix 🤣 well leaves to be more accurate, sweet flag and houttuynia…
Our water gardens are nearly finished.

We got really stuck in today making lilies that were inspired by yesterdays visit to the water gardens. Each choosing a flower that we loved then using a photograph to guide our paper version.
Followed by lily pads that looked super real!

Then a river swim in the Dordogne itself followed by a beer in Roque-Gageac where the houses hug the cliffs along the river.

Gaz… gas… gapach… cold soup anyone?!

Off to gather inspiration from the beautiful water gardens at Carsac… this place exceeded my expectations and was incredible!

Built from scratch in 1999 it offers a perfect experience for flower lovers! Board walks across lily ponds, froglets on lily pads and water plants from all corners of the globe…

Lunch at the barn followed by a workshop session making water crowsfoot.

A great day 1!

And they’re here! 4 ladies and one gentleman have arrived to spend a week here in the stunning Dordogne region of France.

A perfect 23° a glass of Kir Royal to welcome and a freshen up before a home made dinner enjoyed in the barn.

What a perfect start to the retreat!

The ladies start making flowers tomorrow and the male partner has joined us to spend the week writing his book.

The set up enables non participation partners to enjoy the area whilst their other half makes flowers. There is plenty to see and do, and each day we include an activity so it’s not all creative work!!
