We are an independent local yarn store located in the heart of the Norwich Lanes. We are always happy to help with advice on yarn and problem solving.

Ranges include Rowan, Malabrigo, West Yorkshire Spinners, Knit-Pro, Laine and much, much more. A knitters paradise! Norfolk's premier store for hand knitting yarns, felting and spinning equipment. Owned and run by Rebecca Bone with the help of her family, providing an unique collection of hand knitting yarns, Ashford spinning equipment, wool, silk fibres, and now fabrics and sewing threads. We regularly run Knitting, Crocheting and Spinning courses, for all abilities.

With the weather turning into true autumn, I needed to knit up a toddler size pair of mittens fast. I chose the fantastic The World’s Simplest Mittens by Alexa and Emily. They have a fabulous app, and if you link it to your Ravelry account, it will synch all your patterns from them. And we use them a lot! I chose to knit in worsted weight as I wanted to use the soft luxurious by malabrigo. One evening in front of the new season of The Diplomat and they were done! Crocheted a chain onto them to thread them through the Munchkin’s coat and he’s all set now for toasty hands! Love them! Now using the rest of the skein to knit up a matching beanie, another fast and simple Tin Can Knits project!

Our Saturday knit and crochet club was buzzing last weekend! The next one will be Saturday 21st November. Make friends, pick up new tips and indulge in yarn! And kettle will be on. And if you get to last slide - wow. Our new sparkly mohair is just what we all need to brighten up the longer nights heading our way! &n

We’re delighted to welcome Jess from Jess Gallagher back for a series of crochet workshops. Most are now sold out but we still have places left in the afternoon of 14th November. Come along and crochet your own bauble for your Christmas tree. You can book online, by phone or in the shop.

After a quick trip from Norfolk to Snowdonia, we thought we’d look at some travelling knitting projects. Not surprisingly, socks are the travel project of choice for most of our knit and natter group. Although one has no hesitation taking a larger project onto the water! And slide through to last pic and zoom in. An earlier sock travelling project in use to successfully summit Snowdon (or Yr Wyddfa) in Welsh. What are your travelling projects of choice?

On our needles this week is the adorable baby cardigan Gramps, by Alexa and Emily Here at Norfolk Yarn we’re big fans of Tin Can Knits patterns, which cover a vast range of sizes, are easily followed and very wearable. Plus they have a great app to download to store your patterns and provide a great work along system. All under £10! The perfect treat for your knitting bag or a small gift for the knitter in your life. I had to snap up a stitch holder cord, perfect for trying on a sweater mid project to check size and length 😍 also tempted by the cat stitch markers. And the luxury cable needles….

Our first Saturday monthly Knit/Crochet group took place last weekend and we all had a lovely time. We’ve got 3 more to take us to the end of the year. So bring along your WIP’s and join us for a lovely yarny afternoon. Remaining dates are in the last picture. Thank you to those who arrived for the first one!
