When my sister's tearoom needed a last-minute revamp, I created these gorgeous lampshades to match the existing color scheme.
3 different styles, same fabric - keeping it bright, airy, and budget-friendly.

PAINT✨

If you're a regular around here, you'll know I'm a big fan of paints. Great quality, amazing coverage, and a finish that's hard to beat.

But don't let that fool you - it's not all smooth sailing, especially with light colours on bare wood.
There's a huge amount of sanding between coats to get my wood bases lacquer-ready.

Two coats down, probably two or three to go... because once that lacquer is on, it's game over!

Painted in 'Dandelion' as part of a bespoke collection.

A work in progress✨

Growing pains! As a small business, I've realized I need to make some changes to keep pushing forward. From today, I'm no longer taking on lamp shade repair or rework commissions.

If I'm honest, repairs can be more time-consuming than creating something new, and often don't make financial sense. I know it's not the most environmentally friendly option, but I'm trying to prioritize my time and energy.

Moving forward, I'll be focusing on my own range of lamps and a brand-new range of lampshades. These will be available ready-made or custom-made to fit your style. I'll still offer bespoke services for those who want one-of-a-kind pieces.

Here's a sneak peek at some bespoke lampshades I'm working on for a small local business🪡.

The bespoke collection journey is underway.

Working with interior designers to create a collection is very satisfying, but attention to detail is crucial.
Making sure woodturners have precise instructions on size proportions, cable entry points, and bulb holder attachments is vital.
Any oversight can lead to expensive mistakes!

This collection will feature 5 distinct lamps, both wired and rechargeable, accompanied by custom lampshades.

Stay tuned to see these table lamps come to life✨

I have been experimenting with paint colours recently and this rich warm brown exudes elegant luxury with its super glossy finish.

A versatile colour to enhance any interior scheme but one which is often overlooked.

48hrs in PARIS 🇫🇷

Staying .officiel was a dream, and exploring the Saint Ouen flea markets was like stepping into a treasure trove. From antique gems to vintage steals, we browsed it all. So many markets and so many traders from vintage designer YSL costing 1000's to knock off Burberry, this part of the city is a must to explore. So much beautiful furniture and lighting too, it really was an inspirational place for a creative like me.

But I will be honest, the real treasure was the amazing sunshine and sipping bubbly on the rooftops, taking in the breathtaking views of the city from

Doorway to perfection✨
hobbs_interiors Peeking through into our Dulwich entrance hall. A grand space we decorated to make an impression and give the warmest of welcomes 🤎

We are so grateful our client who trusted us with this scheme. We decided how we were going to hang the art before we even purchased the artworks. Giving the pieces more impact.

Yesterday, I was joined by to test out my new workshop. The day was all about creativity, teaching, and learning.
What stood out to me was the therapeutic aspect - a perfect escape from life's chaos while gaining new skills and connections.
We explored different mediums for lamp base finishes and best practices for teaching hand-stitched lampshades, experimenting with different approaches for attendees to get the most out of the workshop.

Sadie brought along some incredible materials, including linseed oil stain and neon twill fabric.
We covered several steps, from painting the base to pattern making and hand stitching the lampshade.
After completing her shade, Sadie decided not to add any further embellishment or embroidery but to leave with a beautifully neat hand stitched edge.

Overall it was a really positive outcome and I will be gearing up to get some workshop dates in the diary.

If you feel inspired to spend the day with me either as a one to one or as part of a group, feel free to reach out for more information.

Big thanks to of for joining me.

February was all about...

1. Chopping off my hair into a near-shaggy mullet! Thanks for the love on my new look.

2. New overalls to tone down the laddish vibes and create a more ladette image.

3. Crafting spheres one at a time!

4. Clearing out and fixing up - trestle table, you’re sorted!

5. Upcycling an old frame with calico - just the trim left!

6. Starting on my next lighting project... think sphere but bigger!

How was your February?
