Here’s a breakdown of Ethical Sourcing:

1. No hard to endangered species

1. Sustainable Harvesting
2. Captive Breeding
3. Permits & regulations
4. Traceability
5. Humane Practices
6. No Waste
7. Supporting Local Collectors Ethically
8. Respect for Indigenous Knowledge
9. Clear Communication
10. Educational Value

I always make sure my butterflies, bugs & moths are ethically sourced and follow these guidelines🦋

🪲RHINOCEROS BEETLE🪲

Here’s 10 top facts about our guy, the Rhino Beetle!

1. Super strength - Rhino Beetles can lift objects up to 850 x their own body weight! Making them one of the strongest animals (relative to size) on Earth!!!
2. Size - Some species can grow up to 6 inches (15 cm) long!
3. Horns - Only males typically have large horns, and the horn shape varies depending on the species.
4. Defensive Design - Their tough outer shell (exoskeleton) helps protect them from predators!
5. Harmless Giants - Despite their intimidating look, the rhino beetle does not bite or sting and are completely harmless to humans.
6. Diet - Adults mostly feed on fruit, nectar and sap while the larvae live underground, feeding on wood and organic matter!
7. Short Adulthood - Adult beetles only live for a few months - just long enough to reproduce while at the larval stage can last 1 -2 years, during which they grow massive before pupating.
8. Symbolism - In some cultures, the Rhino Beetle are symbols of strength & protection.
9. Beetle Fights - In Thailand & Japan, people sometimes organise beetle battles, where males push each other with their horns.
10. Fun Fact - If humans had the same relative strength as a Rhino Beetle, we’d be able to lift 65 tons!!
