From a failed screed to a flawless LVT finish ✨

On this project, we removed a failed screed that hadn’t been properly primed, applied a grit primer, and re-screeded to achieve a perfectly smooth surface. We then installed Camaro ‘Westchester Oak’ in straight planks for a clean, modern look.

The importance of proper preparation 👀

Here’s a recent example we’ve had to uplift after a failed screed job carried out by another local company (no names mentioned).

No primer was used over the existing ceramic tiles, and it’s clear the surface wasn’t properly cleaned beforehand - leading to poor adhesion and failure.

We’ll be going back to basics: properly preparing, priming, and re-screeding the area before installing LVT over the next couple of days.
