incoming pirate day post!!
So we were fortunate enough to be asked to attend an award ceremony recently, where recognition was given to everyone from the founder to the volunteers and of course, everyone inbetween....it got us thinking.......pirate day as most of you know was created many moons ago by one man and his pub! Over the years it has grew and grew and has acquired some of our very own volunteers, who have indeed put some amazing contributions in to making it grow into what we had last year,
From cars and old school to public transport, websites and apps, and it doesnt stop there!
We have made the local radio, papers , news and even spread the word on the ever popular social media, creating quite a stir on our travels when people see 300 pirates turn up!
Now over the years this hasn't gone, of course without its hiccups, and just like a disorganised family we row, argue and things get heated occasionally when things dont quite go to plan, but despite this, the efforts , hours, tantrums and blood sweat and tears are all laid to rest when we see you all turn up in your best clobber and not only have a great time, raise money for charities as we go!
We have raised a phenomenal amount of money over the years and lots of charities have benefitted from all the efforts that go into making, not just pirate days but all of our events successful.
I mean were never going to be a Glastonbury, but it all started with one man and his field right ? So we wanted to say a massive THANk YOU to everyone behind the scenes and for you guys for all turning up year after year .......pirate day 2027 is already in the very early stages and dates for that will be announced early 2027, and we hope to have the same amazing team of volunteers , and possibly a few more , as we go and progress into making pirate day a continued success....so if you have skills or an idea you would like to see materialised lets have a chat, possibly join us as a volunteer and let's continue to make pirate day a wonderful family annual event .....if you have read off of this post , thank you!
