Goodbye 👋 to The Flower Hall forever!!!
I know it will probably come as a shock to so many of you and I actually can't quite believe I'm ending it!
It's been a really tough decision to make after 6.5 years and I'm hanging up my florist scissors after 18 years of being a florist
It's no surprise that the last 12 months has been hard on businesses and the cost of living has definitely effected the way we do things in many ways but I was incredibly luckily to have a very busy and successful 2023 wedding season but truth be told my heart just isn't in it anymore.
They say having a baby changes everything, and it really does...he is my number 1 in every decision I make and he is my priority and I don't want to be a parent that misses out on family time at the weekends due to flowering weddings (which is majority of the time)
Also trying to keep upto date with emails, quotes and admin during non wedding days has become impossible since Percy started to move and I found myself working later and later every night and that's when you start to question is that what you really want 🤔
On top of that a few personal things have been going on behind the scenes also that I'm not ready to go into just yet but this definitely made me make the decision I had been putting off...It's time for me to pause and take a slower pace at life, enjoy Percy while he's small and enjoy all the weekends with my family
Most importantly, I want to say THANK YOU
I started the business in 2017 after starting a new job that turned out just wasn't for me and it was only a temporary escape, I didn't have a plan or an expectation of where it would go!
I started out on the market and it grew really quick and it was unbelievable, I have done not hundreds but thousands of weddings over those years and I really found myself enjoying everything (even the early mornings and late nights) I sold tens of thousands of plants in lockdown, god knows how many dried flowers, pots and vases...you almost killed me off every Christmas, Valentine's and Mother's day with your amazing loyalty. The shop was launched just before lockdown and you loved it,which gave me a real sense of pride and passion, and although it didn't last forever it's still one of my highlights how much you all loved it! So THANK YOU for everything. I have had a blast!! I'm sure it won't be the last time you will see my face, but for now, it's goodbye while I take a well-deserved rest (early retirement 🙊)
