False alarm, but at least we got 15 bouquets out of it! 😂🌸❄️

The temperatures dropped so low I was convinced the first frost was about to take out the dahlia patch. Turned out they survived, but not before I panicked and cut every single vase-ready bloom!

15 emergency bouquets later... no regrets. 💐

It sounds early, but getting those cloves in the ground now is the secret to massive, flavour-packed bulbs next summer!

Here’s the how-to:
1️⃣ Break apart your bulbs into individual cloves (keep the papery skin on!)

2️⃣ Plant them pointy-side up, about 2 inches deep and roughly 4–6 inches apart

3️⃣ Cover and wait—they need a good stretch of cold winter weather (vernalisation) to trigger proper bulb division and growth

Late summer in a vase. 🌾 Soft pinks, warm peaches, and layers of homegrown dahlias fresh from the garden morning cut. There is nothing quite like the texture of freshly harvested blooms.
