After 4 months in storage, my loom is finally re-assembled.

And I’m giving it some proper TLC after ignoring all the ‘quirks’ these past 8 years. Some minor adjustments will give me major benefits.

What a valuable 4 months of stepping back from everything, giving myself the time and space to think, plan and just be. No pressure to produce, no pressure to create, just the space I needed to ‘let the dust settle’ and re-boot at my own pace.

I’m also slowly coming back to IG from years of patchy presence. So much overwhelm post Covid. And perimenopause. And sports injuries… I could write a book.

But I won’t!! I’m just enjoying this honeymoon phase and if you’re curious to see where it leads me, stay tuned.

While cleaning out my studio in November I came across hundreds of odd sized bits of wool from different design projects and weaving workshops.

I separated these bits into different colour groups, carded them, then spun them into these fun rainbow-inspired colours. I do this about once a year when I have no room to store them anymore!

So in the spirit of circular design, come and grab a skein of hand-spun Art Yarn and create something beautiful and unique! There aren’t enough hours in the day to weave all of the yarn I have, but these are special. My website has been updated! 😉

Stroll Sunday 🌿

I’m starting a little Sunday series — sharing buildings I come across while walking through Oxford.

First up: Keble College.

Designed by William Butterfield in 1870, it’s known for its bold patterned brickwork — which wasn’t exactly loved at the time. Many felt it was too busy, too colourful, and quite unlike the softer stone buildings Oxford is known for.

For me, it’s all about these repeating geometric details and strong graphic colour combinations of red, cream and black — they feel surprisingly close to weaving structures, just on a much larger scale.

If you’re ever wandering past, it’s worth slowing down for.

And if you know a fun fact about Keble — I’d love to hear it 👇

Starting to explore round shapes in 3D form after playing with watercolors.

The design process is very rarely a linear progression for me. I bounce between practical skills to inspiration through photos and visuals.

If you’re looking to find your voice with weaving, don’t worry about your starting point, just start. Those first attempts are rarely gold, but might just spark something you’ll use later in your designs.

A new studio update from the land of boxes + broom corners 🧹📦

Hi! — it’s been nearly 6 weeks since my last post, and I’m back with a little “real life behind the scenes.” The Oxford Weaving Studio has a new home in East Oxford… and it’s currently in full work-in-progress mode.

The studio move is ready to roll, but the kitchen renovation is still doing its thing (including a minor lighting saga… because of course). So for now it’s shelves, boxes, and slow progress — one cleared corner at a time.

I’ll share more as it comes together, but today felt like a good moment to say hello again — and to invite you into the messy middle.

Swipe to see what i had to clear to move in (equal parts satisfying and slightly unhinged). 😅

What are you making space for this month?

This year I’m marking Colour Friday a little differently 💫

Most of what I do as a weaver is time and handwork – not something I can easily put on sale. But The Oxford Frame Loom is different. It’s a one-of-a-kind loom I designed, now made for me by trusted makers , and this weekend I’m celebrating it with special bundles in Medium and XL.

As I move into a smaller studio, I’m streamlining what I offer so I can focus more on TOFL and sharing how to use it. If you’ve been curious about the loom, there are limited bundles available until Monday, plus a set of videos on my YouTube channel showing some of its features.

👉 Links to the loom bundles + videos are in my bio.

I’ve been super quiet on IG while I move my studio from my current space into my new one. It’s a big change, but loving the feeling of “re-starting” with a focus on what I love, what I’m good at and what makes me inspired to design, weave and teach in equal measure!

Had fun repairing the 2 holes I made in 2022 while in the studio. A brand new pair of jeans! Just took 3.5 years to make time to do this simple repair and breathe new life into them.

Anyone have tips for using a 4-colour warp (and weft), and have a tidy back?! 😂
