Day wine while watching my favourite Christmas film is completely acceptable on Christmas Eve afternoon, Isn't it 🤔

Anyway, I just wanted to take a moment to wish you all a happy and peaceful Christmas. However you are spending it, I hope you have a fantastic day and find time to relax amongst the chaos of it all.

Before and after pics! I know it's always nice to see how a room was before I decorated it, but I must confess I don't remember often enough.

So here we have a large hallway, stairs and landing. Its dominated by very dark, dated, stained wood which my clients wanted to get rid of. The doors were going to be replaced with oak but that still left an awful lot to eliminate.

So I sanded it all down and then treated it with 2 coats of BIN Aqua, which is a colour killer, primer and undercoat. Its great for preventing both knots and the original colour bleeding through the new paint. I used Aqua in an brilliant white Eggshell finish.

The walls were prepared and painted with Dulux Vinyl Matt mixed in Farrow and Ball Pointing No 2003. Its a beautiful colour, always reminds me of taking the lid of a tub of clotted cream. The ceiling was painted with Tikkurila Super White.

The difference was huge and really brightened the space immensely.

Celebrating 8 years of painting & decorating!

I certainty don't need any excuses to crack open the fizz and eat lots of cake, and this was the perfect opportunity to do exactly that. Although you'll be glad to know I don't bring a bottle to work with me!

A huge thank you to all my wonderful clients who have supported me throughout the last 8 years. I always wanted the business to be about friendship and community, as well as decorating, and that's exactly what we've managed to achieve.

Well, this colour is very fitting for the beautiful weather we are having, Bright Skies, mixed in Dulux Soft Sheen.

Forgot to take any before photos, but this room had been completely re-plastered. So before anything a Mist coat was.applied everywhere. The ceiling was then given 2 coats of Tikkurila Super White and the skirting, architrave, windowsill, doors and wardrobes were painted with Isomat Aqua Eggshell. Finally the walls, including inside the wardrobe, were painted.

And i can confirm the owner of this bedroom was over the moon with it!

I absolutely loved decorating in this old police house in the beautiful Norfolk countryside. It's always nice to decorate a space so full of character.

There was lots of woodwork in this space which needed loads of sanding down prior to painting. All of it was, and still is oil based, but I toned down the shine slightly from the previous paint using Dulux Eggshell. The walls were painted with Dulux Vinyl Matt mixed in Mint Icing, and the ceiling was painted using Tikkurila Super White.

This hallway, landing and stairs hadn't been touched in some years and was certainly in need of a fresh makeover. The homeowners absolutely loved the finish result, especially after J.Peek Flooring put the new carpet down. As you'll see from the final few photos he did a fantastic job, as usual!

Massive transformation of this bedroom as you will see from the before and after photos. Lots of hard work went into making sure the money my clients spent on carpentry looked top notch. And I'm really proud of the results.

The wood paneling and wardrobe doors were painted in English Mist 2, after being filled, caulked, primed and sanded. The walls were painted with English Mist 5. And finally the skirting, architrave and doors were painted with Isomat Eggshell, and the ceiling with Super White.

Finally a wallpaper from Arthouse was chosen to tie the who scheme together. And didnt my clients choose well, what fantastic taste they have!

A fresh look given to this living room, and what a lovely light and bright space it now is.

Dulux Just Walnut was used on most of the walls, complimented with a feature chimney breast painted in Coral Charm. Which really is a beautiful colour. The ceiling was painted with Tikkurila Super White and skirting, architrave, door and bay window sill with Satinwood.

So......let's talk cracks, in particular ceiling cracks. They are an absolute nightmare and not easy to get rid of. As you will see from the before and after pics, this living room had substantial cracks in the ceiling and walls. It's typical of a 70s build bungalow.

First job was to dig out the cracks, essentially making them bigger. I then hoovered them out, painted them with peel stop, and part filled them with fill flex. I allowed this to dry before filling again with toupret interior filler, once dry I sanded it down and painted them over with an undercoat before finally applying 2 coats of the finishing paint colours. A long process but essential to stand any chance of correcting the problem.

The ceiling was eventually painted with Super White, the walls with Vinyl Matt mixed in Farrow & Ball Joa's White. And the skirting and architrave in Acrylic Eggshell. The door was also lightly sanded and treated with a matt clear Varnish.

Before and after Pictures of this great bedroom makeover. As you'll see the transformation was big, and I was so happy with how it turned out.

The walls were painted with Dulux Rocksalt and the skirting, architrave and window sill with Farrow and Ball Manor House Grey. Finally the door and radiator were painted in Dulux Polished Pebble, both colours were mixed in Dulux Diamond Eggshell. As ever the ceiling was painted with Tikkurila Super White.

The feature wall here is actually not wood paneling, but a wallpaper from Dunelm, that gives the look with instant results. This one gives greyer wood tones to match the greys used. I must say from a distance you'd never know this wasn't acoustic board. And I was very impressed with the quality of the paper.
