This painting was inspired by the Thangka art of Tibet during our stay last year at McLeod Ganj, a small village in the foothills of the Himalaya's near Dharamshala, the residence of the Dalai Lama. Thangka art is a sacred Tibetan Buddhist painting tradition, traditionally created on cotton or silk, featuring intricate depictions of deities and mandalas. Used as meditation tools, these vibrant, often gold-leaf-detailed scrolls serve as visual aids for enlightenment and spiritual practice.

We will be opening our new shop / studio at Brougham Hall in a couple of weeks. Busy building units etc at the moment. Painting the walls and ceiling this afternoon/tomorrow then flooring, fireplace and display area painted/varnished in the following days. Looking forward to moving in!

A few work in progress paintings on the themes of sacred geometry, colour and vibration apart from the last one which is an accurate depiction of the light and dark hours of the year, the transition of seasons and the dates and times of the full moons which appear throughout the year. A full explanation of how it works when I finish it! Inspiration for this one came one night when I got home after one of Hannah's gatherings. A fair bit of work to do before all are finished but I'm enjoying having a few of this type of painting on the go at once

This year our Askham Christmas Shop will be open at Askham Village Hall 2nd and 3rd December between 10am and 4pm Saturday and Sunday. Lots of unique Christmas gifts for loved ones or yourself on sale, hand made by local arts and crafts businesses. Refreshments including Mulled Wine and mince pies, tea and coffee. Plenty of free parking. Hope to see you there!
