Conditioning flowers this morning (that’s just a florist speak for getting them ready for you to enjoy!!) These fresh roses have the most beautiful aroma -day job wins!!! Why not get your home smelling gorgeous for the weekend? We’re on the Langwathby road, just out of the centre of Penrith - so plenty of parking without the worry of wardens, or you can order online- it’s so easy!

So today i popped to the Flowerbank - it only seemed right to get a photo with the fabulous team behind all the phone calls to source all the all I needed for the competition- These guys are just amazing. Feel so lucky to have such an amazing local wholesaler, I’ve been using them since I first started out in floristry. (thanks guys!) The Flower Bank

Big shout out to my 2 flower suppliers. To mention one without the other feels like picking a favourite child!!! Yesterday my Dutch suppliers did their weekly trip - it was lovely to be able to show them how their flowers had been used and get a photo with them - Jac had truly done a sterling job picking out high quality blooms from the list. My other supplier also provided blooms and sooo many of the tools and sundries that went into creating the frame (let’s just say they’ve now got to re-stock on the copper coloured aluminium wire.) I’ve used them since before they were even the Flowerbank (that’s how old I am!) The staff there are simply amazing always consistent, always the best! Both stock the most wonderful clematis varieties - allowing me to get a subtle mixture of colours and textures into the design - we got to see their new variety ‘Amazing Amsterdam’ which was shown at the Fleurex event this weekend - a very different colour and simply gorgeous- but that’s for another time. Thank you guys for all your awesomeness xx

Wow - unpacking today after the competition win. Hadn’t realised how much of my box is and ! From fuel for the flowers to get them in top condition, wires / test tubes to build the structure and tools to prep. Was so lovely over the weekend to see the oasis team, it’s always good to chat with them about new developments, ask questions (I love that they always answer the technical stuff in a way I can understand!!) Thank you so much for the bag in the ‘glow up’ area - the mug is holding today’s fuel for me!!!

Wow, what an interesting weekend event Fleurex. Amazing demonstrations by the magnificent (awesome lady!) spending time with Aizel and Jennifer- the founder of who had the hugest Halliesphere at the doorway! - there was lots of giggles in the air bnb! The event was filled with lots of suppliers that I usually only chat to on the phone so it’s been great to meet up. I got to chat to the iconic floristry judge Lynda owen as she gave me feedback on my competition entry - took gold but it’s always great to get tips on how to continue to keep pushing for development. - I’ll post a little more tomorrow on my design - but now it’s time for sleep!!!

Monthly creative class is back!!!!! Over the next few months we’re exploring geometric shapes - starting with circles - what inspiration will you find? Open to all level of budding floral artists.
