One of the many things i adore about life
Is the beauty of cycles
I love how everything moves and evolves,
Yet also everything eventually returns.

I found these words, i wrote them last October, they still land perfectly for me one year on.

I am here getting ready to welcome the dark days.

After 9 years of continuous growing and tending to this land, my garden here.

I have myself become entwined to the cycles of the seasons,

October is a nestles itself in a season of high demand.

I feel like part of my brain is in the past, reflecting on my past 9 years of growing- what worked, what are were my ideas that I had and written down- but I have forgotten where, what have I learnt.

I am also thinking about the future, next years growing, what should one be growing? Will I grow more, or less- or even at all!

Also on the brain is what I need to be prepping right now in order to make the future happen, so I will have flowers next year.

There’s also the garden to clear and plant up, weeds to pull, squash, apples and flowers still to harvest.

I want to dry more blooms whilst the weather is dry, harvest more slugs before their population grows,
Get the weeds out before their roots get too deep,
I need to get the bi annuals in the ground so they put their roots down deep before the winter!

It all goes round and round and round.

Sometimes I need to stop, before I can start again.

If you need me, you’ll find me in the sea.

Spending a moment to look back on September….

I created this bouquet, I love these soft colours.

Pretty milk churns

September was overflowing with Dahlias

Some of Septembers harvest

And some more.

The first signs of autumn, I always find the red berries against the bright blue sky so endearing .

Storing dried flowers so they don’t grow mould

Bridleway walks

The rustle of dried flowers

September light

Harvest fayre day

Studio moments

A birthday adventure

This October, November and December I will be opening up my studio to you for some creative whimsical floral workshops.

I am imagining delicate autumn flower bowls filled with the last of this years flowers mixed with grasses and other delicate items.

Delicately dried wreathes from a collection of my gathered summer flowers.

I have also envisioned a feral Tablescape creation- feasting with Autumn.

And of course as we welcome December some foraged greenery wreathes.

Imagine fairy lights, candles, warm drinks and food, good conversations, joy and friendships.

I will then be making sometime for myself to go fallow during January and February.

More information coming next week on the above workshops.

How at times life feel like it moves so fast.
I can’t believe I haven’t shared this wedding with you yet!

It been two weeks already since the wedding of S and C at the most beautiful .

Their day was adored with florals in the way of a bridal bouquet, flower girl posies, buttonholes and a floral arch, they also had a DIY flower bucket for bud vases.

I delighted in the first poppies and when placed together with the wild cow parsley, I feel it really gave us that spring meadows feel.

Wild stems for wild stories! That’s what I do.
It’s alway a delight and honour to create for such beautiful people.

As I quietly met Beltane on a mild, still evening, with my barefeet on the Earth

I stood and watched the bat fluttering overhead, feasting so beautifully on the midges.

The moon was yet to rise, tonight she will be full.

I reflect for a moment as the smell of spring reminds me that I am here, on this earth embracing her and living with her.

I feel a sense of quiet, stillness and contentment.

That’s how I like life nowadays, quiet, still and being with my land. This place I call home.
