Went to Spokane for the annual Silly Goose Society meetup with Becca Robertson 🌿 over the weekend, met a pony, got some more chickens and spent 42 hours trying to get home because the 1988 Vanagon wanted to be back in its natural habitat (on the back of a flatbed trailer). 🐓🚙🍳🐎 never not an adventure!

The anniversary of leaving city life behind and moving to our rural, remote cabin came and went recently—apparently I was too busy working on my next super top secret diy project and exploring the North Cascades to even notice!

Living here has been an absolutely wild, chaotic, stressful fever dream, but a dream nonetheless. Year 6 is officially the year our cabin started to feel fully like our home: the balance of textures and colors, the flow, the material choices—all of it has come together that makes my eyes, heart and soul happy.

The best month I’ve had in a very long time 🤌 vacation in the DR, the arrival of fall at the cabin, connecting irl with nancyricex on a soul level—it’s been everything I needed and more. In August, I made some big moves, told the universe I was ready for something new and it’s delivered in more ways than I can count. I feel nothing but gratitude 🫶

Night-shift husband + a word game that lives on the fridge = the most competitive notes we've ever left each other 🫶 Meet The Fridge Game from Big Potato aka how Sean and I stay connected even with totally opposite schedules! It's a super fun two-player word game that lives on the fridge (or the lamp… or wood stove… jk). You write a word, color in blocks to block the other player, and after seven turns, whoever has the most blocks gets bragging rights.

The Fridge Game keeps us connected, silly and a weeeee bit competitive. Side effect: may cause more trips to the fridge than necessary.

Sept. 28, 2020 will forever be the day Diamond came into my life and changed every single moment for the better. 💎 I don’t even know how to begin describing how much I love this precious perfect piglet—just that I didn’t know a love like this could exist.
