Dearest customers of Hobbs,

After 32 successful years of trading in Penzance, the owner Jeremy, is retiring and the shop in Causewayhead will close.

The team at Hobbs will be here for you until the final day of trading, 30th June.

Starting today, May 12th, there will be a 3-for-2 discount on everything in store.

If there’s something (or a few things) that you’ve had your eye on - don’t delay!

Spread the word - When it’s gone - it’s gone!

Thank you for your support over the years. Without all of you, supporting independents and using your local shops, Hobbs would not have been here so long.

We will miss you 💔

Have you got your pumpkin from Thornes? They’ve got some really good eaters as well as carvers.

Seasonings for the season - black pepper is a fab addition to savoury pumpkin dishes. Grind it fresh for best flavour.

The ‘Palm’ salt and pepper mills have just arrived from Robert Welch. Satin finish stainless steel and available in three sizes to suit every table.

Difficult to believe but the large one of these is a foot wide and under thirty quid! The small one is only £17.50. It doesn’t come filled with thyme and garlic roasted spuds sadly.

The new ’Proper Job’ mugs are fresh in too, by Pottery Throwdowns’ Keith Brymer-Jones.

Are you feeling excited about the food festival?

Last year we had some tasty stuff from local vendors, local ingredients, local beers. High hopes for this year too.

Pictured is the fab Sardines tote from Dollyhotdogs. Perfect fit for your goodies from the marquee.

We’ve just had a restock of the tea towels and aprons too.

We’re hoping for a few more sunny days ahead - between the showers! It’s time to enjoy some harvest plenty. Berries and stews are perfect for this time of year and they look great in the terracotta tapas dishes from the Sintra collection.

Here’s a stew I made earlier. It was delicious, if I do say so myself haha
. . And talking of Tapas - don’t forget the Penzance Tapas Trail. Starting on Wednesday 17th, there’s lots of great places taking part.
