This is a Scottish movement by John Alison, Clockmaker, Foot of Broad Wynd, Leith, Edinburgh. Registered in 1796!

Napoleonic wars were ongoing when this movement was created which is wild.

Beautifully decorated, great condition. Pendulum also unusually detailed beautifully with a hand painted ship.

This clock has befittingly been upgraded with a high quality, bespoke glazed oak case ensuring its future longevity. Probably mid / late Victorian case.

The case is absolutely solid and constitutes a major upgrade which sets this clock apart from most others.
