So. It's taken a standard '3 to 5 working days' to process the fairly spectacular, wonderful weekend at Creative Exchange, Perth ππΌ
Followers of PCE might be sick of seeing posts about how fantabulous it all was and how warm and fuzzy we are, but this is a personal take if you're into it. π
In a big scary, volatile world, I have to say having a tiny corner of it that is so joyous, exhausting, fulfilling, overwhelming and full of potential is quite the sort of blessing I never imagined.
To share a bit of that twice a year, coordinating our events, is becoming less stressful and more oddly joyous.
Also terrifying. π
Honestly, about 5 or 6 years ago, I was unmotivated, often overly solitary (as so many creatives are), not earning nearly enough, unable to imagine a single skill in myself other than playing with mud pies, and honestly if you'd wrapped me in wet loo roll, I'd have struggled to plan my way out of it. π
So finding myself coordinating a twice-yearly event of this size is absolutely bewildering.
But while I do put a stupid amount of hours into this because now I'm obsessed π, it's only so good because there's so much talent and goodwill in these parts. I found my tribe and it stretches over half of Scotland.
Within the PCE walls the gamut runs from bouncy chaotic energy to solid reliability; if you find a tribe with mixed tools, ideas and a common goal you are lucky beyond measure.
And this tribe understands that at this difficult moment in time, you have to MAKE things happen, and collectively we can do it better and bring others with us. We all benefit and hope it in turn brings something enjoyable to the wider community.
The fact that I hear of people looking forward to it now just blows my tiny mind! π₯
Anyway: market peeps, thank you for sharing our weekend and I absorbed and passed on every word. π
Visitors: thank you for all your support, enthusiasm and purchases, wonderful conversations too! ππΌ
Fellow Exchangers: what a special community I'm so fortunate to be part of. Full team effort and there it was... happening. π
Special mention, Tasmanian Devil Morven Stewart - Artist ππ₯
