Privacy where you need it, without losing that beautiful view. 🤍

These unusual floor-to-ceiling windows called for something a little different.
The made-to-measure curtains have been designed to give the client privacy at the lower part of the windows, while leaving those gorgeous angled tops open - so they can still enjoy the natural light and see the sky above. ☁️

Practical, beautifully simple and designed specifically around the way the room is actually used.

Another example of why we love finding solutions for the not-so-standard windows!

It’s easy to spend all your time choosing the perfect fabric, but what goes behind it matters too. 🪡

The right lining or interlining can add body and weight to your curtains, help them hang beautifully, improve light control and add another layer between your room and the window - particularly welcome at this time of year!

It’s one of those details you might not necessarily see, but it can make such a difference to the finished result.

We’ll always talk you through the different options and what will work best for your room.

We’ve worked with a LOT of beautiful fabrics over the years, but everyone’s idea of the perfect interior is completely different.

So, which one sounds most like you?
A — Bold & patterned 🌸
B — Soft & neutral 🤍
C — Classic & traditional
D — Colourful & fun 🌈

We’ll be sharing a few examples from our previous projects - let us know which you’d choose in the comments!

The best thing about bespoke? Your home doesn’t need to look like anybody else’s.

Ever fallen in love with a fabric in a sample book, then wondered how it will actually look at home? 👀

Light, wall colour, flooring and the other furnishings in your room can all affect how a fabric looks once it’s in the space.

It’s one of the reasons we always look at the bigger picture when helping you choose. What looks perfect under one light might feel completely different in another.

Choosing the fabric is the fun part… making sure it works beautifully in your home is where we come in. 🤍

It’s amazing how much difference the position of your curtains can make.

Where your pole or track sits, how far the curtains fall and the amount of fabric used can all change how tall, wide and balanced a window feels within the room.

And it’s exactly why made-to-measure is about more than simply choosing a lovely fabric. We consider the whole window and the room around it before deciding what will work best.

Sometimes a few centimetres really do make all the difference!

Got an awkward window? We’d quite like to see it! 😂

Bay windows, unusual angles, sloping walls, extra-large windows… we’ve worked with our fair share over the years.

And as you might have gathered from some of our recent posts, we do love a tricky window!

Made-to-measure means we’re not trying to force a standard solution into a space where it simply doesn’t work. We can look at the window, work out what’s possible and create something specifically for it.

Think yours could give us a run for our money?

Would you be brave enough? 👀

You know we’re not afraid of a bit of pattern at Strathearn Interiors!

But we want to know… if you fell in love with a really bold fabric, how far would you go?

✨ Full-length curtains
🪟 A Roman blind
🛋️ A few statement cushions

Sometimes the fabric you’d never normally pick ends up being the one that completely makes the room.

What would you choose? 👇

Hello October 🍂

The evenings are getting darker, the temperatures are dropping and we’re officially entering cosy season!

It’s around this time of year that we really start to appreciate a beautiful pair of curtains. As well as making a room feel instantly warmer and cosier, choosing the right lining or interlining can help add another layer between your room and those chilly windows too.

So if new curtains have been on your list for a while, now might be the perfect time to start thinking about them. 🤍

Now this is a before & after! 👀✨

From a beautiful but very tricky single-glazed arched window with a sloping wall… to a completely bespoke solution designed around it.

The brief was for blackout thermal curtains, helping to add warmth and block out the light, while still looking beautiful in the room.

The finished result features this gorgeous patterned fabric, carefully made-to-measure curtains and a clever pole arrangement to work with that unusual slope.

Definitely one of those projects where made-to-measure really does make all the difference. 🤍

And here’s the finished result! 😍

Remember that single-glazed arched window with the sloping wall we shared? Well, here it is complete.

Beautiful made-to-measure blackout thermal curtains in the most gorgeous patterned fabric, carefully fitted to work with the unusual shape of the window. A second pole holds everything neatly in place against the slope while still allowing those curtains to look beautifully tailored.

Practical and beautiful - exactly what we were aiming for. 🤍

A tricky window, an unusual brief and plenty of problem-solving… but we do love a challenge!
