I do LOVE a BEFORE & AFTER! This is an epic transformation by Eleanor M - it’s worth scrolling to the end. 👏 👏 and our Scallop Shells wallpaper the star of the show (although the Lino floor is pretty hot competition I must admit)

What a brilliant first day The Design Social Pop-Up! Thank you so much to all who popped by our stand. I can’t deny we weren’t a little toasty in our Barneby Gates upholstery weight fabric dresses on this beautiful warm September day, but always important to dress the part! We look forward to seeing more of you tomorrow - we’ll be there 10am till 4pm and you may (or may not) spot us in more BG camouflage 😉

Some rooms grow up with you.

This is my goddaughter’s attic bedroom, originally papered in our pink All Star design. A few years on, the stars have made way for Botanica 🌿 which I hope will stay with her for many years to come.

Same room. New chapter. 💚

Turns out we’ve been confusing people! 😂

‘Barneby Gates’ isn’t a man. It’s two very old friends — Vanessa Barneby and Alice Gates — who have known each other since we were 10.

We grew up in the same village, went off and had completely different careers, and somehow ended up starting a wallpaper and fabric company together.

Nearly 20 years in, we’re still friends, still working together and, remarkably, still not arguing.

Long may it continue.

Happy birthday Mumma! A perfect 80th lunch at The Candover today - never happier than surrounded by all her grandchildren (and never too old to learn a new game 😂) And we snuck into one of the bedrooms to show her the bespoke wallpaper we did for them too 💙
